Christmas decor

Well plan on putting up my Christmas decoration tomorrow instead of waiting until after Thanksgiving this year. Since my grandmother will be giving me lessons on "how to cook a turkey with stuffing 101" the week of Thanksgiving, I figure I won't really feel like putting up the decorations at that time. So when are you guys putting up your Christmas decor? It sure did come around this year pretty quick didn't it?
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It's my first Christmas in my new house, so I plan to go all out! mushy
My living room has a bay window, so I want a nice full tree that will sit right in front of it, all sparkly.

I was looking around Bed, Bath and Beyond the other day... cloud9
I'm going to start buying soon, so I get what I want, but I won't put it up till Thanksgiving weekend.

I can't wait! woot!

I don't believe in even THINKING of going near a toy store, department store or anything other than a grocery store in the month of DECEMBER. The stress is way tooo much for me.

Well... my living room is maroon, gold, and white, so I was going to keep it in that family. White lights, burgundy & gold decor. nod

I used to be quite the scrooge. I hated Xmas. But that was mostly to do with missing my grandma at the holiday time after she passed away.

A few years ago I finally came around and started enjoying the holiday season again, but there are OTHER holidays too. lol I LOVE halloween. I LOVE thanksgiving. Both of them moreso than Xmas. Let me enjoy them first.

I get that some like to get the "work" of the holiday out of the way. I just don't need months of preparation for one day.

I was/am quite the same

Samhain ( Halloween ) is my fave and most important holiday

our 21st wedding anni is ON Thanxgive day this yr mushy we picked that time to marry to give a more profound meaning to giving thanx at that time

and Yule is wonderful - for me, without the material ( and american santa ) kinda bs that so many attach to it ...

I don't decorate at all - for any holidays. But I especially hate xmas. (:grinch:!) I work right off of Fifth Avenue in midtown New York so I am not looking forward to all the crowds of tourists clogging up the sidewalks while they gawk at the Barney's/Bergdorf's/Bendell's windows.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

My show runs 'til Dec. 23. I'll be lucky to get my shopping done - to say nothing of decorating.

I figure I'll get my fill of lights and Christmas spirit at the theatre.

I put up our trees (3) boxed starting the day after Thanksgiving. I spend most of that weekend decorating.

I was brought up to not even put up the tree (real then, artificials now) until 2 weeks before Xmas, but the older I get the longer I want to enjoy all the effort I put into decorating.

We'll probably be stringing lights on the bushes out front this weekend or next. I won't light them until after Thanksgiving, but I hate putting outside lights up in the bitter cold. lol

The deserts are the part I love. Why does it not occur to me that I can make these pastries any time of the year?
