Moderator | Give Yamomma Your Attention! Experiment In the Studio This is a jam that was recorded, pressed to CD, with only two microphones right here, just now, from start to finish, it took about 30 min to record the track, take a photo, make a cover and burn it to CD, and upload it to the net.
Ok, first off, This wasn't rehearsed No post production Nothing Special about it whatsoever. This whole jam was completely impromptu. That's what makes it so cool. Check it out. http://www.frankaxtell.co...ack 02.MP3 The players: Frank Axtell - Guitar Danny Wilfork - Drums Yamomma - Fender Rhodes Piano (I don't really play piano, but what were we going to do with two drummers?) Actually I dig your version. Good wake up song for when I come into the office in the morning. I played it evey morning for the last few days. What effects did you put on the vocals? Did you just double them? Also, was this a collaboration or did you do all parts? Last night was like a race. To record, print, and post a song as fast as possible. The whole think took abut 30 min. 10 min to record a totally made up Jam 5 min to burn to CD 15 min to upload to site. Studio Rats Rule! Did you just double them? Also, was this a collaboration or did you do all parts? Last night was like a race with the three of us. To record, print, and post a song as fast as possible. The whole think took abut 30 min. 10 min to record a totally made up Jam 5 min to burn to CD 15 min to upload to site. Studio Rats Rule! The vocals had a compressor, but nothing else. I recorded three vocal tracks on top of one another to make it sound a little like a flanger or chorus effect, but there was nothing but a compressor on the vocals. I chose one vocal to be loud, while the other two were just there for a pseudo-flanging effect. The two extra vocals are panned slightly left/right, but not far enough to be really stereo. All the music is me... there are four guitar parts (2 guitars on each side in stereo) and 2 bass parts doubled in mono. The drums are simply a drum program... and not a great one at that. It took me over two hours to do the song though... unlike your 30 minute job! SUPERJOINT RITUAL - http://www.superjointritual.com

Dude, we immediately wanted to re-record last night with overdubs of strings and horns, but decided to keep the "Momment" as is. Usually when we get going, we easily get lost until 4-5 in the morning. You have a great "rock voice". Got a home set up? I have a hard time when I am not just recording a demo... every time I have recorded an album I have wanted to re-record guitars a million times and have always had 32,000 ideas that I thought would be wonderful overdubs... luckily the producers didn't agree with me! Usually when we get going, we easily get lost until 4-5 in the morning. ICENINE: Music is worse than crack... if you get in there and it feels right, you will be there for days! You have a great "rock voice". Got a home set up? Thanks! I have a decent little setup at home... nothing huge, but definitely cool. Moderator | But again the idea of last night wasn't to create a killer song, but to enjoy the creative process.

I haven't listened to it yet, but this sounds like Prince's present creative process. | |
