ha lol My ex husband's sister's name is Melva and she's just turned 20. In her defense though, she's named after her grandmother.

I don't know what's more annoying, young people with old names or old people with young names.

true, I know kids named Cole, Finn, Emma, Emily, even a Vladamir!

I know a 7 year old called Boris

I always wanted to name a large dog Boris. It would be a great name for a St Bernard or even a large white standard poodle.

I know a six year old girl named Irene and a seven year old girl named Susan. Both children have parents that are imigrants from Africa, I think Kenya to be specific. Maybe in Africa those names are modern.

A lot of trendy hipster types around these parts are giving their brand new babies grandma and grandpa names. Lots of adorable little Hazels and Walters running around certain neighbourhoods in Vancouver. lol

Native folks have always used a lot of old fashioned names. I guess they never went out of vogue in rez communities. I know some people my age with names like Randal, Harold, and Mabel.

Nikademus sounds rather an olden days name like Nostradamus or Erasmus biggrin

Actually, Nikademus was the bad guy from the old Phantasie computer games from the 80's biggrin

And Nicodemus was the wise old (magic?) rat in The Secret of N.I.M.H

I love old names like Helena and Madison- love it love it love it!!!!

now if you go the Velma and Viola route- I cant go with ya.....

..but it seems like its a challenge to find "old" boys names- they are all still being used.. hmmm

Madison's not an old name, at least not for girls. It's a very old boys' name and only recently came into style for girls.
