I think this entire thing ebbs and flows. Sometimes I get desensitized to the cute cudddly hilariousness of the original picture for weeks. Then out of nowhere I realize just how funny the picture is--the smug smile, the clutching of that animal up close, the haircut--I mean, it's a perfect storm of cute.
