Your Manscaping Regimine - NSFW (sligtly) I absolutely hate teh process of manscaping.
I. hate. it. But who wants to weed through a brilo-pad tangled forest to get to a man's cozy cottage? It's an absolute necessity. Besides, I'm one of those unfortunate blokes who has hair growing up a good portion of my damned shaft (almost 40% up the length of it), and nobody...I mean, NOBODY, wants to wrap their hands around a fuzzy caterpillar, let alone slide their lips down the thing--it would be like blowing a big, chubby, okra. But my problem is I have to attack the stupid process like I'm performing surgery, else I end up with razor bumps---and on a penis it looks like genital warts. This decreases the no-slip lip-grip on the meat whistle potential of course. I started the process of manscaping yesterday. Not for the specific purposes of pleasing a sex partner or anything like that, but I was starting to feel like a Yeti. I'm not finished, and I don't even think I'll be done until tomorrow. The process is slow and delicate. I can't imagine the shit women have to go through. I mean, they don't just do a little carpet control--they go to armpits, plucking eyebrows, shaving legs---basically, they eliminate millions of years of evolution over 70% of their bodies on a constant basis! Do you guys manscape? Ladies you can chime in too, but I guess I would change the question for you to "Do you ladies NOT shave parts that most ladies do--I know some girls don't shave legs, etc. etc.)" Do you feel the process has gone too far? Are we eliminating the obvious fact that we're just evolved primates? OH, this is a NSFW funny commercial [Edited 10/23/09 8:17am]

But I'm so programmed by it that if someone doesn't conform to the program, I have a knee-jerk 'ewww' factor. I hate unkempt beards (I'm not crazy about them kempt, honestly), and I hate hairy female legs (though I don't mind stubble). I know these are social programming for the most part (although I've always disliked the beards cause I hated hugging my dad when I was a kid and he had a beard that itched my face--I would hug him while keeping my head away from his as far as possible.

In most cases, guys think it makes them sexually more appealing because it's a masculine feature. But it really just makes most look unkempt. I mean, hairy armpits are masculine on men--but, if the underside of your arms looks like a bearded clam, you need to trim fellas!

I hate the term manscaping. Men are getting so gay, and it's not good at all. I like the hot, hairy men.
I don't mind trimming, but completely shaving doesn't look good to me.

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't.
And I'll say this - If I thought no man would expect it of me I'd never, ever, ever shave again. Cause let's be real - I've got enough stacked against me in that department, I can't add body hair to the mix. Except I think I'd always shave my armpits, cause I really think it's more hygenic. But as for the rest - no freaking way. I hate it and it's bad for me and my skin. |

That's like saying if a man expects you to wash that gray right of your hair, you'd stop going to the salon. That ain't true!

I don't mind trimming, but completely shaving doesn't look good to me. I hate the 80's porno shaved effect. But I appreciate attention to detail.

I'm saying I only do it cause I know it's socially expected of me. By men. Potential boyfriends. If it weren't I'd stop in a second. And often when I'm single and it's winter-time (so my legs are never bare) I don't bother. |

I see your hair/trim regimen as being very much intrinsically motivated and not due to extrinsic forces. Look, Carrie--we both know. We **** BOTH **** know that once you step into a Salon, your life is forever changed. No social forces can affect that.

Like a sheep. What? But you posted the hairy chest thread not too long ago. I thought you were hairy and proud! I never shave my chest (or anything) completely off. Yes, I am very proud of it. Even when shaving totally smooth was the trend. I also love hairy chests of course. I just tame things down a bit and keep em from being unruly.

I buy lingerie no one will ever see - thigh highs, garter belts, corsets and such - cause I like the way they look and they make me feel good. But shaving and hair removal in general gives me rashes and bumps on my gorgeous lily-white sensitive skin. It's irritating and sad. But I get why it is more aesthetically pleasing (and practical) so I succumb to the societal pressure. |

OK, this seems intrinsic to me rather than social programming. That is, you want to impress somebody when you do it, but it's not like you feel obligated through social programming to impress them. In other words, you want to tap that ass--you don't necessarily buy into the fact that it's the 'right thing to do' to shave your hoo-hoo though, right?

So it's CALL AHEAD or... ![]() The hair on my body doesn't grow out of control anyways. The only person to make a comment about my underarm hair was my best friend who was grossed out by it. I didn't give a fuck. It's natural and I don't feel I have to change for other people..
