Toys from your childhood

Do you still have any of them?

If so, who did you get them from?

Is there one special toy that you could never part with?

(adding this one)

If you don't have any of your childhood toys, then share with us what were a few of your favorite ones! wink

---

I have quite a few of my dolls, and Suzie Homemaker appliances. Most are still in Hawaii.

I got most of them from my father and mother - who made it a point to spoil me rotten.

I have one very, very special toy. The name given her by her maker, Mattel, was Baby First Step. She is a walking doll, who uses batteries to "toddle". She was given to me by my father the day I was born. She is with me here, in Minnesota.

I still have almost all of my Star Wars toys in storage, except for that Stormtrooper that kid lost in the sandbox in kindergarten! I'm still mad about that!

What a cool topic, Lav smile
I had a Baby Alive that wasn't very fun after her supply of 'make it yourself' babyfood mix ran out, but I loved her just the same.
Also, I had a Holly Hobby Oven that wasn't very fun after the treat mixes ran out. My parents were very health concious and thought that it would be a bad idea to buy replacement mixes (too many hydrogenated oils, sugar, etc), so the oven was useless. I then started experimenting and actually cooked ground beef in it...my mother caught me and yelled that I would a) start a grease fire or b) get worms from eating meat that was half-cooked by a lightbulb...
lol
Oh, Shrinky Dinks and PlayDoh were some of my favs smile

Hmmm... nothing really stands out to me. I mostly rode my horses or played outside in the mud... lol.

I do remember a toy that I wanted in the worst way... an Easy Bake Oven. For some unknown reason my parents never got that for me. About five years ago I got one for Christmas... yes, I used it and then I put it back in the box... lol.

I suppose there was that kitchen set that I wanted so bad that one year for chrsitmas... that's about all the sticks out in my mind. I talked my mom into letting me take it outside and I would make mud pies in it! smile

I do have one!! I still have my little dog "Rescue"... cocker spaniel stuffed animal with a silver bracelet that I put around his neck that is choking him, one eye is missing and his stuffing is coming out of his side!

I think I may even have two bears down in the basement. They are identical and they wind up and play music... I used to sleep with both of them when I was very little.

Thanks, XxAxX!

I don't have any toys from when I was a kid. We moved around a lot and couldn't pack a lot with us. I remember my favorites being Lite-Brite, my Big Wheel and the Barbie head that you could put makeup on and do her hair. I also got a pony that had springs, you could sit on it and ride. I was pretty little but there are so many pics of me on it that I know I loved it. I only vaguely remember it, but I remember it fondly.

When I was 9 I had a small doll I named Abigail. I made a little house for her out of a cigar box. I kept her for a long time, but she got lost in a move.

I got most of my toys from my parents who also believed in spoiling my sister & me rotten. I also got lots of goodies from my grandparents (Dad's side).
I'm firmly planted in denial

wellbeyond

Riding my bike...

Riding my skateboard...

Making go-carts out of discarded wood and rusty nails...

Legos...

G.I. Joes with lit firecrackers strapped to their bodies...

Live toads...

Tonka trucks...

Hot Wheels and miles of stiff, yellowish-orange plastic track you snapped together...

The occasional stumbled-upon Playboy or Penthouse in the woods...

Pogo Sticks...

They might have thought it was dangerous. The lightbulb used was a 100 volt one, and would get extremely hot! Hot enough to cook a cake, lol.

The funny thing is, he would float, but he would immediately capsize! He couldn't sit up! So he didn't get much bathtub time... sad

These days he lives atop my monitor. smile

Yeah...did it for my VB class, nothing impressive. I also gave it a "theme", used MLK as the person delivering the message. It would show you random quotes with each mouse-click. redface See, it was cheesy. biggrin

I don't have any of my old toys, but I do have a barbie my mom gave me in 1984 still in the original box.

When I was a kid, I loved my Easy Bake Oven, and my brothers table hockey games. Do they still make those table hockey games?
"Choochie, choocie, choo", Mommy said to the little baby.
