Lacey Clothing

I've endured it for too long!

I'm trying to find some clothing with lace, perhaps a catalog I can get through the mail. I have discovered that the old timey vintage is far from where I want to go. I simply want somethng dramatic, yet elegant. Alas! I look online for something of the sort and only come up with clothing that looks like the Mormon women decided to wear something "bold".

Please, help. I'm dead serious. It is bad whenever 1. You don't have that much clothes to begin with. 2. My friends say I look like a granny.

I simply want to look fashionable. If you have any suggestions as to where to look (that does NOT involve whore like lingerie) then please toss the sites over here.

T_T
Let's have a little fun....
If you win, I'll give you 50$
If I win, you have to get a lobotomy.

A win win situation your you.

I love the look of lace but find it way too scratchy to wear.

lol @ Mormon women decided to wear something "bold".

Good luck though.
I'm firmly planted in denial

This site does have some of the old time vintagey but its got some GORGEOUS dresses! Its not cheap but if you want to invest ina piece or two it may be worth getting the catalog... I love the castle and cottage catalog, hell, i love all their catalogs lol...

Go to where it says hopeless romantic, that is the catalog you would want...

falloff hug

I have to say that, surprising as it may be for a Prince fan, not to be a fan of lace (or maybe I blame Prince)...lace means one of two things to me:

Outdated Prude

or

Total Skanky Slut.

ZombieKitten

I'm not crazy about lace, unless instead of flowers and stuff it would be robots and spaceships.

sweething

You might think about finding a pattern you like and having something made to your specifictions. It's really not that much more expensive than buying new off the rack, and you if your seamstress is good it'll fit to a tee. Just a thought.

Lace can be incredibly beautiful.

Unfortunately, it usually ends up looking cheap and cheesy. disbelief

Agreed.
For lace to work it has to be done like in the 50's IMO.

The most successful recent use of it I can recall was by Prada. They did a good job a few seasons ago.

Unfortunately too many folk revisit 80's lace instead. shake

nod

When it comes to using lace, the simpler the design of the garment, the better.

And no stretch lace. Ever. no no no!
