going to a shitty job...

a few months ago i worked at the house of raeford. Its the place where we get chickens from. Its a very uncomfortable job. They had me doing live hang. I worked there for one night and quit. When i picked the chicken up,they literally shit on my face! i worked for a night and got 80$. Times are hard these days. Keep in mind im only 20. I have put in a lot of applications in this small town and all i get is NO. Anyways,im thinking about going back. I know i hate it but i need the $.

I'm in my 30's, have a master's degree and 16 years of solid experience in the industry (Information Technology), and still can't secure employment.

I've been offered something that doesn't pay well, but it's in a place I absolutely am excited to be, and doing work I love. But it was really really reeeeeaaaaaly difficult to secure a position and I didn't think I was even going to get it.

In about a years time, I might jump back 'in the game' but only temporarily to make sure all my finances are in order. I'm DONE with a career path that requires me to 'work for the man'. It's time to go into work for my own damned yellow ass.

Life is beautiful.

That's EXACTLY where I'm at. Except for the yellow ass. Mine is quite pale. But I've got a plan for a business of my own (well, with a friend) and it can't come soon enough. Sadly, having just bought a condo and needing financial stability in the immediate future I'm going to have to wait a year or two, but I am confident I can get the business going within a few years and be able to quit corporate america forever.

I'm most excited about not having to deal with a gawddammed dress code ever again.

Sooooo true. I thought about it. I mean, you've met me in real life, so you know this to be true---I'm an extremely intelligent, complex, and intense person. I shouldn't be wasting those features on corporate America.

By the way, pale white skin is beautiful hug
Thank you very much for that description of your ass. I really appreciate it. The org appreciates it. I've made a screenshot of your post actually sexy

I am so sick and tired of dealing with people!

if it was just me, the chickens, and the chicken shit....and no human involvement, I'd probably better off.

I'm really hating people most days. Ignorant, hypersensitive, annoying, and full of bullshit. All I'm trying to do is do my job, do it well, and get home at a decnt time....and people act like it's a problem and they want to fuck around. Not in the mood for their shit. mad

Have you tried looking in another town for a better job? Are you willing to move? Because thats just what you may have to do to find something better. If you need the money, I say go back to the shit hole for now, because you have to do what you have to do, but still keep applying for something better. Good Luck to you! biggrin
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Congrats on finding something and I feel you on the going into business for yourself (and I have a caramel ass opposed to your yellow one lol ). Working for the man these days are awful. I have a master's degree also (MBA in Marketing though I have no marketing work experience, yet I would love to. My background is in finance.) I have a job currently, yet it sucks, but for now I keep going to collect the check, I mean its better than collecting umemployment. I'm getting the bills paid, but not being fulfilled at all, so I'm keeping my options open and applying for jobs elsewhere, preferably in the federal government, but I don't know if anything will materialize from that since it's hard to get into the federal government. I would love to start my own business, but I have to admit, I'm kind of scared. confused

one of them got fired confused but it ain't just one sad

but today I checked to see if another place is hiring and I might go ahead and get that career change in gear if they will help pay additional training. I might not ever like people but at the very least I could be paid much more money to deal with their shit.
