Nope I don't sleep in silence, every night I have the dvd player running hot and watch movies on my plasma and leave it on all night. When the movie ends and silence kicks in, it wakes me up and so I press play on the remote and fall back asleep again. In my teens it was the same but with music, nowadays it's always dvd's.

I don't hear a thing.
It's beautifully silent and that's the way I love it.
I could never sleep with any tv/music on. My mind would stay awake from the distraction.

I hear yah, the silence is deafening. I won't leave the commercial television on because it sucks and I don't have cable in my bedroom, only in the 3 living areas. Besides I have nearly 1,000 dvd's so plenty to choose from and usually watch darker movies like Flatliners or series like X-Files.

I always hear things. My house is 90 yrs old,i sleep in the attic loft & i can hear the squirells running on the roof..the stairs creak...the furnace mummbles & hisses....hubby snores & talks in his sleep (thats why i sleep in the attic) confused

the background noises have become comforting to me., which is surprising b/c i am a VERY lite sleeper.

The screaming in my head usually drowns out any noises my house might make.

I don't mind too much and it doesnt happen every night mate because most dvd's just repeat on their own and won't wake me up at all. I'm a shift worker too so I keep odd hours and I've become accustomed to sleeping little from insomnia. Watching and falling asleep to movies was a way for me to get past it, better then resorting to taking pills or other... wink

Usually the demon sitting on the foot of the bed is chewing gum and blowing bubbles too loud for me to hear the weird noises.

What the hell?

When I moved into an apartment I used to live in the noises would scare me. Get my imagination going. Sometimes I thought someone had broken in or was trying to break into my place.

I got myself a night light for the hallway and that solved it. Plus I got used to the sounds.

Sorry, I don't pray and have no plans to start since all is good just the way it is.

Not too sure what sins I am committing either, but that doesn't even matter because I'm not a believer or follower of any form of religion.

not the sounds my home makes but everything outside:

stray cats fuckin or raping depending on how you look at it

my neighbor on his porch as he smokes the rankest ass smelling weed then proceeds to hack up his lung

pigeons who refuse to go to bed

random car alarm (sometimes mine)

sound of the breeze

It's all annoying really. neutral

I've made myself immune to house noises because my partner wakes up and says "Whats that!" at every. single. fucking. sound. So my stock response is "It's just the axe murderer coming to kill us"

Ya, that would be my old place. lol

But because it's woods across from my house it's creepy quiet around here at nightt...all you hear is the wind in the trees and the rapids on the other side of the woods.

I would trade eerie sounds of living in a house to beng woken up from a sound sleep by a noisy neighbor living in the apartment below me ANY DAY. I can't tell you how many times this has happened, but this bitch seems to have no clue whatsoever about the way sound travels in this apartment building. The thing that really irks me is that if someone else were to do this to her, she would be the FIRST ONE to complain about it. rolleyes rolleyes

At least when you have a house, you don't have to contend with neighbors living directly below you, across the hall from you, etc. and their noise (which is worse than noise you hear coming from a neighbor's house, because in an apartment building, you're living right on top of each other). rolleyes If I could move out of here just to get away from listening to the bitch downstairs opening and closing her closet doors in the early morning hours, I would. But unfortunately, I don't have the monetary means to do so, so I'm stuck here for now. sigh

I run a fan at night because if not I'll be awakened by the sound of genital licking, and not the "this could be fun; let's see where it goes" kind of genital licking, but some dog licking what used to be his balls. I once slept through a tornado that wiped out several homes surrounding us, but the sound of a dog licking itself during the night can wake me from a Benadryl induced coma in a cold sweat. :shudder:

I just hear the baseboard heating pipes clicking on and off.

I normally have a lot of music playing in my head so I find it peaceful and restful.
