BiPolar Disorder/Mental Health

Does anyone suffer from BiPolar disorder along with me? Or even any other mental health issues? I've been having a really tough time...Losing friends, relationships, jobs etc. And wanted to share and encourage other people who suffered as well.

I am a bipolar.

I used to suffer a lot but medication and having a good way of life helped me a lot.

I can say now I have a "normal" life, except I don't have many people who understand what I've been thru.

Life can b nice for us too hug

I'm the same way. My mother finally talked me into going to get help. Now I take Abilify along with Atarax for my Panic attacks. They work ok but feel like I need something stronger. My suggestion to you is to please get help. It can bring about suicidal thoughts and just make your life harder than it has to be without medication/and or therpay.

@ virginie74. If you don't mind what medications have you found to work best for you. Sometimes I feel the abilify is like tic tacs. And yeah, it is hard for people to understand what we've been through. I'm just glad I know what's wrong with me now. I feel i'm headed in the right direction:)

I am following the same treatment for now several years.

I also have a therapy, I see a doctor (psychiatre) once every two weeks.

Orgnote coming with the name of the medication.

I encourage people to seek professional help. Often, mental health components are just as inherited as any physical symptom that might "run in the family". So don't blame yourself - it's genetic! Other people in your family may not have told you what they have been through, or never sought treatment. Medicine and health care are ever-evolving, so be one of the first to handle business. It's up to you; No one else can go to the doctor for you.

I said "yeah why.."

he replyed "cause u look nervous...and your shaking my whole car"

At that point i realized I was having a anxiety attack...
I don't have medical coverage so i can't grab any meds... sad

My niece is bipolar and I'm very concerned for her health. She works full-time now but I don't believe her employer offers insurance (being a very small, independent business) and if she's covered under her parents that will run out soon due to being over 18 and out of school. sad

I was recently diagnosed as bipolar and am still struggling to adjust to my meds. It doesn't help that I was being abused at work, quit the job, was about to start counselling and mj died. My moods have been up and down and not very clear. Most of the time I wake up feeling hopeless like I have nothing to live for anymore. It doesn't even matter I have a degree, I suck at everything and I'm too stupid at everything but typing away on message boards.

i have a few family members that suffer with bipolar or mental health issues. it's so sad to see them suffering with it! today i spoke on the phone with a family member that is in such despair! neutral i did what i could to talk positive and encourage her, but i still worry, she seemed so depressed! confused i told her i am her for support when she needs to talk...all she has to do is pick up the phone day or night, and i'm here. rose

A friend of mine also is bi-polar. Before we met she talked for about 5 years with a psychiatrist and he wasn't able to reach her. She always was very passive. As the psychiatrist would solve all her problems, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. It's hard working yourself to eat, sleep and get a daily routine.

I gave her some insight how i managed some of my struggles in life and i managed in 1 evening more than the paid guy did in 5 years. now she is doing much better and even has a goal in her life.

My brother is bipolar! He's a real mess too. I think I might be, probably more depressive than manic, but at the same time I think I'm just really pissy about life and people in general and it's not really that I'm the one with mental issues LOL. I just think this society we live in isn't very conducive to having a positive outlook or a healthy mindset.

And I think many many people have some sort of chemical brain dysfunction, and that there are just too many people!

My son is bipolar. He refuses to take medication. He's 21 and his life is always is one major disaster after another. He's either been in jail or court at least once every month this year. He's probably gonna get at least 6 months in jail when he goes back to court. He took medication for about a month when he was 18. The difference was unbelievable. It just kills me to see him live this way. He's married and got a 15 month old son. The example he's setting for his child is just pathetic. He just won't get any help. sad
If you're not doing the fucking, then you're taking one.

For those who feel depressed, I wanted to share something that helped me alot lately :

I write down 5 positive facts that happened to me/ I did during the day, simple things.

You can choose a vow, an idea or a fact. Little by little your vision of live become more positive and you remember only the good part of life. It sounds very childish but it really helps !!!

5 facts are maybe hard to find in the beginning but soon it will be easier. I recommand it to anyone.

And, to you all, hug

Depression I guess. Sometimes, well i guess usually, I self-medicate which lead to my addiction problem, sometimes I just stay depressed. I don't know why I just don't take the meds I'm supposed to take.

What's that groups name. Suicidal Tendencies.....lol...ohhh man, bad times bad times.e

It took me time until I accepted I had a bipolar disorder and accepted to take my medecine as well.

But today when I see the change and what I achieved I am very happy to be balanced and without these ups and downs.

Depression's a bitch and a half. Had wellbutrin prescribed to me but I'm scared to take it so didn't get it filled. There's good days & worse ones.

I'm a seasonal depressent. I get depressed during the winter. I HATE long nights and short days. They slow me down and I eventually get depressed.

I combat this by being active, and going out and to the gym, but this last winter, I didn't have the funds to do so, and I wasn't employed, and I went through some painful personal experiences. lol

So, it REALLY creeped up on me for a few weeks, but I shook it off cause what choice do you have?

I don't believe in medication. I strongly believe in getting there and to keep moving. It's gone now, and I'm in good spirits. But I totally understand people who go through it.

Seasonal depression must suck disbelief hug I just get very anxious, especially at night, and actually I finally went in about this after having an anxiety attack at work that was so bad I had to leave for the day.

I absolutely do believe meds are right for some people, I'm just being paranoid about it for myself. I started running out of desperation to try & feel better but I think exercise doesn't really affect my mood. I'm going the dramatic life change route now & seeing what that does lol

I really didn't want to take medication but I finally had to and I'm a lot calmer now though I still suffer from low moods constantly. I was crying uncontrollably, punching pillows, sleeping a lot, shopping excessively, getting jumpy, you name it.
