I remember watching this. I was 14. It was 1991 I think. It must have been a weekend or summer time other wise I would have never seen it. But I remember being in front of the tube watching him blast them.

No...I think Arsenio was going strong another year or two after this show. The only reason why I really remember it so much is because our house burned down in 1990. I remember watching that episode in the town home we had to live in while rebuilding the house. And still watching it up to 1993 while in our rebuilt home. ...traumatic experiences caused me to remember everything very vividly back then. OVER SHARE

What Arsenio should've said was that he himself "dip un de odda side". Everybody in L.A. knows Arsenio is bi, and had a man living with him. I can be a true friend, or a worthy adversary. The choice is yours.

Must have been 1993 because one of the last shows I saw from Arsenio Hall had a brand-new solo Snoop Doggy Dogg on it. (He's not gay either )

Gus Van Sant could have been on Arsenio a few years later.

Dude....it so wasn't. Where tha hell were y'all? It was 1991. Arsenio went off air in 1993. Where YOU been? Arsenio's show ran from 1989 until May 1994. Five full seasons. More from Wikipedia: During a May 1991 taping, Hall lost his composure when three or four members of the gay-activist faction Queer Nation that were seated in the back rows—apparently offended because Hall's producers failed to book Gus Van Sant to promote his gay-themed film My Own Private Idaho— interrupted Hall's opening monologue by shouting questions as to why he never had any "gay" guests on his show. The heated exchange went on for several minutes, with Hall defending his position as host and arguing that he'd had plenty of gay people as guests.

Arsenio was the worst show on television. Thank god it was cancelled. Even Jay Leno is better and that show sucks too.
He was a comedian but he wasn't funny. He also gave horrible interviews. What kind of comment is "I'm not gonna run away from it like Johnny - I'll deal with it."? And what kind of comment is "I'm black" or "Go ask Johnny"? Sounds like he was jealous of Johnny maybe because Johnny was King? He handled the entire incident the wrong way. I watched that show too and don't remember that airing. Could be they edited that out. Then it showed up on a dvd extra or something. But who can forget Chunky A? [Edited 10/21/09 2:23am]

I saw that live. At that time Queer Nation was showing up to various talk shows, and Arsenio was having none of that But the experience affected Arsenio deeply because over the course of the next several months, Arsenio actually had 'out' gay and lesbians guests (a comedian who wasn't the least bit funny appeared and did 'dyke humor' ) to show that he was inclusive. I applaud Arsenio. He really took the experience to heart and was very inclusive of gays and lesbians. But I sided with Arsenio during this exchange for sure.

Well I think the guy was there on behalf of Queer Nation the activist group not all queer people. And Queer Nation is an extremist group. At least back then they were. They were out for the publicity of it more than really helping the gay movement.
