Nightmare on Elm Street I love horror movies. This is my favorite series of horror movies. I'm not scared easily. But this is the only horror movie/movie series that scares me (besides Zombies). The first time I saw this movie, I was 12. I actually had nightmares about Freddy Kruger and still do to this day. It frightened the life out of me. Does anyone remember when this movie first came out? What was your reaction?

Hell yeah this movie scared me and still scares me to this day. I first saw the movie when it first went to VHS back in 85 or 86 (8 or 9 years old), with a bunch of other kids...we were not ready for Freddy. Up until that point, we had only known of Jason and Michael Meyers, and I had a reputation as being one of the kids that was no punk when it came to horror films while other kids would be hiding and covering their eyes. Oh but believe, after watching Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time, I went home and begged my mother for a nightlight, for the very first time. I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

Don't forget about Leatherface and his chainsaw. Remember, he started this slasher horror game to begin with (not counting Norman Bates of course). But Freddy definitely took the horror game to a whole another level.

Oh yes ofcourse When I said "we" I mean the other kids my age at the time who hadn't yet seen those films that you mentioned, since they were before our time. I remember the first time I saw that movie...it was on tv and it was at the part where nancy is at tina's house and tina just got killed.... they were trying to get into the room. I kept switching channels cuz it scared the heck outta me plus i didn't think i was supposed to be watching it. [Edited 10/17/09 13:57pm] [Edited 10/17/09 14:31pm]

and the part when Freddy's tonguge came out of the phone was pretty freaky, too.

It's weird though, for me looking at the trailer, it doesn't look that scary. lol I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

That part creeped the heck out of me. “When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a Communist.” Brazilian bishop Dom Hélder Câmara

Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

The funny thing is that I wanted to play Nancy if they ever did the remake. Call me crazy but I think I would of been perfect for the part. Oh well.

Other funny thing about this movie is that Nancy looks in the mirror before she goes to sleep one night and says man I look 20 years old. And she was 20 years old when she made that movie!
