i woman i work with told me that her pains from taking a laxative and having diarrhea cramps was much worse than child birth.
the kind of cramps and diarrhea that will make you sweat and pass out on the toilet. To make a thief, make an owner; to create crime, create laws.

That's not even close... i wonder some women have no pain it's all easy. some even have an orgasm. so i wonder if its different for all women and this whole thing that men will never understand the pain is some sort of myth. [Edited 10/17/09 7:39am] While having childbirth, no pain, even an orgasm? Who are these women?! I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

its like squeezing a melon through a lemon
if you have your nuts in a vice real tight - it might just come close..... "I may not agree with what you say but I'll fight for your right to say it"
Be proud of who you are not what they want you to be...

You gotta command women for going through all of that and then their period every month. But my mom says as soon as you have your child in your arms it's the most beautiful thing and you forget everything you endured...least till next time...

I gave birth without drugs of any kind, and it was intensely painful to be sure. The intensity is really what takes your breath away, it's not so much like "ow, this hurts" as it is "holy fuck I'm ripping in two and there's no way I can take the pressure."
But I've experienced worse pain. An incisional hernia where my abdominal muscles were ripped open and my intestines were poking through? Worse than labor. An infected tooth, where the affected nerves are so close to your brain that you feel like your head is EXPLODING? Worse than labor. For me, anyway.

[Edited 10/17/09 7:39am] now that is funny as hell, would be funny to let you experience this kind of orgasm and PRB and PunkMistress, I wanted to write the same, toothpain is MUCH worse. Last year they cut out a wisdom tooth but they cut a lot of the jawbone and I had no good painkillers. I could die from pain. Labor is immensely painfull also but because it takes so fucking long (and you're already tired of not sleeping well for weeks), you just end up completely weared out, you have no strength left over to bear the pain.

The huge blood loss, things that can go wrong and pushing the baby out. And add 9 months of "parasitizing", the kicking night and day, the hormonal change, carrying the weight all these months etc.

For some reason I have a fear of dying at birth. For someone women it's not that painful. unlucky7 reincarnated

The real reason women forget how painful labor/childbirth is.

I agree...I could never forget. I was traumatised by first labour, I should probably have got some kind of counselling. I would cry in the shower every day when nobody could see me for months after. It wasn't the pain as much as it was the pain making me NOT feel like a human being, nobody seeing me as a human being at the time or being treated like one. Yes I know the baby was priority number one, but I was there too
