Nightmare on Elm Street

I love horror movies. This is my favorite series of horror movies. I'm not scared easily. But this is the only horror movie/movie series that scares me (besides Zombies). The first time I saw this movie, I was 12. I actually had nightmares about Freddy Kruger and still do to this day. It frightened the life out of me. Does anyone remember when this movie first came out? What was your reaction?

Hell yeah this movie scared me and still scares me to this day. I first saw the movie when it first went to VHS back in 85 or 86 (8 or 9 years old), with a bunch of other kids...we were not ready for Freddy. omg Up until that point, we had only known of Jason and Michael Meyers, and I had a reputation as being one of the kids that was no punk when it came to horror films while other kids would be hiding and covering their eyes. Oh but believe, after watching Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time, I went home and begged my mother for a nightlight, for the very first time. boxed
I've lost the use of my heart, But I'm still alive, Still looking for the life, The endless pool on the other side, It's a wild wild west, I'm doing my best, I'm a soldier of love, Every day and night, I'm soldier of love, All the days of my life.

Don't forget about Leatherface and his chainsaw. Remember, he started this slasher horror game to begin with (not counting Norman Bates of course). wink

But Freddy definitely took the horror game to a whole another level.

Oh yes ofcourse nod When I said "we" I mean the other kids my age at the time who hadn't yet seen those films that you mentioned, since they were before our time.

My reaction?

I hope no-one authorizes a completely unnecessary remake of this 20 years from now.

lol it's already being made. It comes out Spring 2010. The funny thing is that I wanted to play Nancy if they ever did the remake. Call me crazy but I think I would of been perfect for the part. Oh well.

Other funny thing about this movie is that Nancy looks in the mirror before she goes to sleep one night and says man I look 20 years old. And she was 20 years old when she made that movie! lol
