I miss good television overall. I really miss good/well written comedies. To me, there has not been a sitcom in years that can withstand the test of time. Think about it, shows like Sanford and Son, Cosby Show, etc. have been over the air for years, but they still get re-run daily and people still watch them. Do you really think shows like "Friends" will stand the test of time?

To be fair, there are still music videos, but you just can't see them on television too often (unless you have a channel like VH1-soul).

i just don't give a crap about:

-aging truck stop hookers competing for a Hustler spread while balding hair metal men desperately attempt to look virile (or its 'urban' counterpart)

-self-indulgent, scripted, silver-spoon pseudo-socialite Southern Californians

etc, etc...
everyone's a fruit & nut case

I love the Jeffersons. When are we going to get another sitcom based around older people?

Yes. Friends is one of the best sitcoms, it's a good mixture of a humour, story and interesting characters.

I miss Ducktales sad

For some reason, I don't think Friends will stand the test of time. I think Seinfeld will, though. I don't care for either one, but in 20 years, I can't forsee people making references to Friends for some reason.

How can you forget Joey's "How ya' doin'..?" lol But that's just a matter of opinion, for example: I hate How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang Theory, even thought everybody loves them.

I agree, How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang are not as good as what people make of them.

Are there any good sitcoms on air?

I love "Sanford and Son" and "Good Times" but I don't miss the two shows because TV Land has worn them out. With all the numerous old shows out there, it is rediculous that they take only two or three shows and play them all day long.
