Some of my best friends are mentally challenged dwarf lesbian nuns in wheelchairs with one arm and gammy eyes but I love them ever so much.

There's times when folk say that stuff and it comes from a place of true ignorance. Not hatred. A lot of folk from older generations for example. It's like they think you're gonna criticize 'em and they go on the offensive or something. Which is totally unnecessary of course.
The thing that really makes me nuts is when people feel the need to point out what race someone in a story is. For example: My co-worker, she's this black lady, and I.... And then they're done, and the person's race had NOTHING to do with the story.
I always ask, just to put 'em on the spot and make them aware it sounds dumb.  | |

You know what really annoys me...
is that when you admit to being raped as a child to defend ur feelings then others say "Well I have friends too/ or know people who were raped" they don't have the foggiest idea of the trauma it causes to a person cause they NEVER went through it( and no I don't wish it on anyone). The fact is they can't feel what the person was feeling when it happened they are the second person being told ONLY! *this is from a person I work with situation a couple of nights ago*
