SOME OF MY BEST FRIENDS ARE.... Does this phrase ever annoy you? Why do people bother saying it when in reality...nobody really believes them? And if some of your best friends are (fill in blank) do you really have to say it? Shouldn't it be obvious? I thought it was a dead phrase/saying but apparently it still gets a lot of play. 
Most commonly used as: some of my best friends are gay some of my best friends are black some of my best friends are atheists some of my best friends are liberals And here is a new one I've recently heard some of my best friends have had abortions.  say what? | |
