I'm sorry who am I to tell what to choose. I didn't like the iPhone service plan with AT&T, my gripe it may not be yours. If you like the added features of camara/video and also need a mobile phone or a phone period the iPhone may suit your needs. As someone mentioned the iTouch and Skype you need a wifi hotspot. The internet can only be accessed on the iTouch if the server is not passworded or if you know the password to any locked server.

My wife would probably want to commit suicide if she lost or broke her iphone, she loves that thing, i HATE them

Personally i'd get a Nano, they are cool.

It's been awhile since I bought an iPod, but the iPod program on my iPhone is the best iPod program I've ever seen.

I'd go with an iPhone, even if it was just for music.
