HELP!!! (Please?!) I really need some help! As some of you have read in one of my threads, my best friend's baby boy has recently been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy and is unlikely to see his first birthday She has decided to have both of her boys (big brother is 5) Christend this weekend and has asked me to be Godmother As a gift (amongt other things) I'm getting a personalised plaque like this:
Problem is I have NO idea what to have written in the top plaque.. none of the sayings that they sent me seem particularly appropriate. Basically I don't want anything with 'future' or anything overly religious in it.. ANY IDEAS??! Please help me, I need to get this ordered NOW! [Edited 10/13/09 16:02pm] I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

This was sweet i thought...I changed it to be plural for both boys..
Today we celebrate your birth's And give thanks to God above Who saw fit to send you down to Earth Angels for us to love Our dreams and hopes God made come true The day you filled our lives with joy and so God we ask this of you: Be forever with our special boy's Hers another.. (John H. Gower) We bring them Lord, in thankful hands, And yielding them up to Thee; Joyful that we ourselves are Thine, Thine let our off-spring be ~~~~~ Oh that voice...incredible....there should be a musical instrument called George Michael... ~~~~~

OK, can you cut and paste some of the sayings? Is it supposed to directly reference religion or a christening?
how about something like this Celebrating the blessing of the time we have together ???? 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

True Love is never lost

I think its a plaque celebrating the christening of both boys on the same day, not the upcoming passing of the baby...am i right? ~~~~~ Oh that voice...incredible....there should be a musical instrument called George Michael... ~~~~~

Or something like
Our love will for you will live with us every day of our lives, and we will live and love our life in your name, so rest well in the warmth of a love that will never fade. (you might even do) time and sun will fade these words but nothing will fade our love for you living so loved going too soon but we will never forget "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Found these by Googling "christening poems" and "christening quotes":
A child is a precious gift from God And baptism is God's gift wrapping Your darling little angel Was sent from Heaven above As you celebrate his (her) christening You're surrounding him (her) with love One tiny hand to guide and hold, One tiny life to shape and mold; each child, a gift from God above, a symbol of His strength and love. May angels guide your tiny feet and bring you smiles to wear. And may our Heavenly Father always keep you in His care. Blessings on the little children, sweet and fresh from Heaven above. May their days be filled with beauty, may they grow in truth and love.

Yeah I got too much into the future.
But I think they could be altered to fit and still be appropriate later. Also, maybe one now and another for when the baby passes? "Keep on shilling for Big Pharm!"

Guys, I don't think anything that looks forward to her child's death is appropriate to give to this mother.
My grandmother was told that her son wouldn't live to see the age of three. He died a few weeks before his 50th birthday. He was chosen to be my godfather when I was born, and he was an amazing person who lived a long and love-filled life. Doctors don't always have a crystal ball.

Thank you all SO much! I really appreciate your help and suggestions, you're all superstars
In the end I sat down with a pen and paper, quelled my panic and wrote: 2 beautiful boys from heaven above, christend this day and showered with love'. Do you think it's ok? [Edited 10/14/09 15:19pm] I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off
