gender segregated public washrooms: it is THAT big of a deal?

Provided there are still stalls for privacy, of course. Why do we even bother separating mens and womens washrooms? confuse

A lot of gay clubs and bars, and even trendy upscale restaurants already have unisex washrooms so it's not as if men and women peeing in the same room is unheard of. I know if I'm out somewhere and the line for the ladies' room is too long I'll just duck into the usually mostly empty mens' room to do my business. shrug

go into a mensroom, then go into a ladiesroom

aren't you glad men haven't been in there pissing all over it? lol

(I'm not talking night clubs either, since drunk women piss and puke all over the place and seem to leave wet toilet paper wads wherever they want in those falloff )

all the gay bars in American have mens and womens washroom but no one pays attention which is which. though women get front of the line priority in the women's bathroom

I've had cleaning jobs in the past. Believe me, women are just as disgusting as men. Only some of us leave some extra special nastiness men aren't even capable of. Bloody tampons, much?

More are starting to be like that here too.

I'm speaking more in general terms than just about gay bars though. Why do we bother?

I've seen that ONCE in a public restroom in the city, but I must say the ladies in most establishments I've visited are always kept pristine hmmm

Most places janitors/cleaning staff are quick to take care of that kind of nastiness before too much of the public gets to see it.

Man, my stories can't even compare to some of the things my sister could tell you. She was a housekeeper in an upscale hotel. lol

Many of the washrooms in Tampa are unisex. One of the most popular gay bars in Tampa (now closed) had 3 washrooms--all of them unisex. All of them had open urinals though so you would be taking a piss, while a long line of girls (and gun-shy guys) were standing in lines behind you waiting to get into a stall.

I find that when it's unisex the bathrooms tend to be much much dirtier than what the ladies are used to, and it's an unpleasant experience for a lot of them. Plus upscale gay bars with a 40 to 50 percent straight customer base can be a lot for a straight guy to handle. Most straight men would rather not take a piss in a urinal surrounded by gay men and straight women in the same room.

In a gay club (and some straight clubs) here I haven't minded but having a wee wee would have to wait until I got home because of all the sex and orgies men were having in the toilets and the pee sprayed all over the place. As for the general public it could never work for various reasons (pervs, paedophiles, crime etc) and segregating works in society because of what has been instilled in the mind of peeps.

ill no I don't want to know lol

but still, I've walked past the toilets in many places (restaurants for example), and it smells like urine every time the mens room is opened and it wafts out - it doesn't smell at all in the ladies.

lol

The toilets at the airport are cleaned regularly and they still smell like piss. Women are so nasty sometimes I can't understand why they find it so hard to pee in the bowl and they're already sitting down... hmmm

they AREN'T sitting - squat and hover, or at the airports especially, those not used to western toilets are standing on the seats.

Just be glad that they're still separated.

Women couldn't tolerate the smell or the men making stupid noises while urinating or excreting.

Men couldn't tolerate the gossiping and the women locking themselves in the stalls for hours in order to cry drunk there.

On a more serious note, I think this is quite truthful. At some workplaces it can work, but in many other places - no.

Standing practice is not allowed, there are signs all over the toilets stating this and those women are pulled up on it, it's quite a sight. In saying that I'm sure there are still some sitting and doing a piss arse job of that. Regardless I don't understand why these women find it so hard to clean up after themselves.

Hell naw, keep them separate. When you start having women in the men's room, then they'll wind up taking all the urinals out and have nothing but toilets and stalls. It's too damn hard to see dicks that way. lol

Not in my area. In one gay club, they used to have a men's room with one long urinal that about four men could stand and piss in at the same time. Then on the wall, they had a mirror in front of it that went the entire length of the urinal. I used to get drunk as hell in there drinking beer as fast as I could so I would have to go piss again. lol

Well considering the number of sick ass child
molesters and rapists in this world, keeping
bathrooms gender segregated is a good idea.

OMG! at my old job, we had to tidy up the bathrooms from time to time during the day, and aside from the gifts left by boys with poor aim, the men's room was ALWAYS cleaner lol

Women would leave paper all over the floor, pee on the seat, female-hygiene trash face up and unwrapped in the can.... disbelief

Also, the men's bathroom seemed like it was never out of toilet paper or soap
Evidently, men neither wipe or wash? lol

Funny, I used to have to do the same type of job, and the men's room was always much, much worse. This was at a college, and the men seemed to deliberately destroy the place (not to mention men are just plain more foul).

But maybe that's not true of all restrooms. Still, we have unisex (private) restrooms at my job, and the most common issue is usually that a man has apparently stood on the toilet & peed around it lol

Okay, well you know, demographic is probably playing a part in this too.
You were cleaning behind douchey college guys lol

I worked in a coffee shop in a pretty wealthy area, and most of our male customers were older business men who were there to work, have meetings, and hide from their wives.

There's a club in Tampa where the 'troth' actually has runs down the middle of a room and you can chose either side to piss in (like sitting around a dining room table). You literally take a piss while there's a dude facing you taking a piss.

The gross thing is that there's nothing preventing him from spattering you with urine. ill

i stopped into Moby Dick's a couple Easters ago with Sister Uma Gawd on our way from Delores Park to Cafe Flore. I had to pee. So we went in, they have a trough urinal. There were some guys using a few giving blow jobs and in pops two Sisters. I being a bit out of sorts yell at my Sister, "Girl hold up my dress so i can pee." Very quickly it was just me and Uma in the restroom.
