I agree, How I Met Your Mother and Big Bang are not as good as what people make of them.

Are there any good sitcoms on air?

I don't know of any..maybe IT Crowd. Did you see that? It's quite fun smile

No, I haven't seen it. What channel does it come on?

I have been watching "Sherri" on Lifetime. I think it has potential, but I don't think Sherri has the chops to carry the show by herself.

"Gimme A Break"

...and when I was really young;

"Sigmund the Sea Monster"

"Land of the Lost"

"The Happy Garden"(?)

I love "Sanford and Son" and "Good Times" but I don't miss the two shows because TV Land has worn them out. With all the numerous old shows out there, it is rediculous that they take only two or three shows and play them all day long.

I miss good talk shows like David Susskind, local Chi-Town host Irv Kupcinet, David Frost, those show would bring authors, world leaders, actors/actress, world of sports, and folks off the damn street and they would talk honestly and with intelligence about everything and anything.

Varity Shows Ed Sulliavan, Carol Burnett, Flip Wilson, Dinah Shore, I could go on and own.

I miss the seasonal cartoons, Frosty the Snow Man, Little Drummer Boy, Walton's Thanksgiving, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Hallmark Specials when they were well written and acted. Seasonal Holiday shows. I miss ol' school cartoons, Popyee, Flix that Cat and His Magic Bag of Tricks, and Magilla Gorilla. Shows such as Bozo Circus, Kukla Fran and Ollie, Captain Kangaroo, and ZOOM. I miss watching some of the best singing this country had to offer every Sunday morining on Channel 2, 7 and 9 between the hours of 6am to 1pm, gospel singers/choirs from around the country and from our area. It was amazing since Blacks where seldom on TV (shown in a postive light) and as racist and segregate as Chicago was... still is. There's a lot I miss and wasn't able to share with my my own daughter. sad

We grew up on actual shows in which the creators actually had an imagination. It's a damn shame that people of today's idea of imagination is putting a bunch of stereotypical people together in a house and giving them constests that make them fight each other. I've gotten to where I mainly watch the news channels these days (something that I never used to watch previously).

We used to get Chicago's WGN on cable down here in Mississippi as far back as the late 1970s. I used to love watching Bozo and my favorite part was the Grand Prize Game.

I miss good television overall.

Co-sign x 10000!

Aside from Ugly Betty nothing recent grabs my attention anymore.

The Cobsy, Jeffersons, Ally McBeal, Dynasty, The Mary Tyler Show, New York Undercover, Seinfeld and the likes,,,,,won't be passing any torches.

TV back then used to be SO cool and personal. Now its neither.

Danger Island from Banana Splits... I actually liked it as a kid boxed especially when they would call the Latino guy "OH OH CHONGO!" boxed
I'd go around the house yelling that same phrase on Saturdays.

its all on youtube, you can look up "Oh oh chongo" and you might find exactly what I'm talking about.

Damn. Am I the only person who's ever fantasized about winning the lottery or taking a temporary leave of senses (whichever comes first) and hiring/taking hostage the cast of Night Court and having them re-enact my favorite episodes? That's normal, right?

So, yeah, Night Court.

Also, Night Stand with Dick Dietrick.
