When I woman puts on make-up, wears heels, adopts a sexy personality and goes out to be absolutely fabulous. Its not her interest in men that ignites and fuels this.. it's her being in competion with other women.

On my way to work this morning I observed the guy sitting in front of me checking out every hot woman on the journey ...he got up and the 3 women that took his place ALSO STARED AT EVERY WOMAN WE PASSED!

Only conclusion is that women are in a constant battle of who is hotter, smarter and more of an 'ideal woman' ...with other women neutral

Pul-lease. I don't do that because I don't care what other women look like.

True for some. I don't dress to impress anyone. I dress for myself.

Yeah, I say it's true, not for all, because I have seen it how women compete with eachother, but it's sad. I'm with you, I dress for myself and if I wanna wear tennis shoes and jeans or flat girlie shoes instead of heels, I will. And when I wanna kill my feet and wear heels, I will. I see women at my job killing their feet wearing 4 inch heels to work everyday and complaining their feet hurt. lol

well...I do believe that things like heels, makeup, etc, while often dismissed as torture devices created by men, all stem back to women creating their own makeup thousands of years ago.

I believe it's women that did these things first to themselves.

However, I believe it was not for each other, but to attract men.

But thousands of years later it has developed into such an art form, that it has it's own life. Women can appreciate the craft of another woman's "fabulousness." It's fun in and of itself. Similarly, while men accomplish goals in order to appear like good providers to women, some do it so well that I can appreciate their craft, too.

A highly stereotyped point of view, I know, and there are many exceptions & arguments. I'm only speaking very generally.

And it's also human nature. Sure it's true that some women don't compete at all, but the majority do...whether it's subconscious or not is another thing.

And competing doesn't mean that one can't appreciate their competition or that they will be catty or mean towards them. It's not always that way at all.

You see perfect examples of it here on the org, time and time again.

I'm highly competitive, but I don't trash the other person to get ahead.

Sexual jealousy abounds, little titties possessed by alien slug forms travelling through the cosmos via radiowaves.

Question1: Titties of slugs?
Question2: Can the slugs morph into the curvature of female breasts?

after all this competing, what's the prize? lol
REALLY.

I never in my life have thought of myself as in any kind of league to be competing with anyone confuse I always go about minding my own business. I will look at the ladies, and wonder how much it costs (thousands in some cases, according to a magazine article I read about the high price of beauty) and I might look at the men looking at those ladies, and I might be on the same wavelength as CarrieMPLS with that I don't feel even in the same category, I feel removed. Maybe I have an esteem problem, or poor self-image, but if a guy was ever looking at me it I always thought it must have been because I have a booger hanging out of my nose or something lol Doesn't happen any more, since I never go out in public.

The prize is the attention I guess. The 'men find me hot and sexy which makes me so much better than you' look on some of the girls faces. I've always noticed though that the truly beautiful women have just as many girl fans as men.

I find any kind of attention like that uncomfortable, so that must be why I'm not in it to win it and deliberately do things to not be noticed.

Very true.

Whilst men see a woman with good hair, nice eyelashes, good skin, great figure and smeels good

A woman will look at the same feamale and see a bad weave, fake lashes, cheap foundation, bad breast job and wearing Chanel no.5.3[/quote]

All women like to feel like they are attractive, some women are confident and don't worry about who else is in the room and who's looking at who.

I am not physical perfection, heck even Halley Berry dressed in the latest fashion sitting next to my fat ass wouldn't shake my confidence one bit. Many women in my family are drop dead gorgeous, even my best friend has caused a few car accidents from men not being able to take their eyes off of her. I am used to being in the company of great looking women. There is always somebody prettier around me... like wayyyy prettier. IMHO

And ya know... something weird would always happened to me that may not happen to many women, being around gorgeous girls... the vain assholes would gravitate towards them first. Then AFTER the vain asshole got dissed by my awesome looking buddy or sister or cousin of mine, then they would come to me....

Vain asshole: "Hey there, you're good looking too... horny "
Me: "Ya, I already knew that, thanks and bye-bye now" wave

To this day, I never went after anybody else's man. I never let a dude talk to me after he tried to "hollar" at my girl either, no matter how fine he was. Never had to, ya see because I'm too pretty. wink

So are women competitive, or are men just too vain? hmmm
