I believe she was performing standup in one of the lounges and my friends that were working with Essence said she was a total pain in the ass. That doesn't mean she won't be nominated though. Granted, the releasing agents involved with the production of a film can submit whatever names they want to The Academy, but the nominations are done by secret ballot by members of the Academy only. The juicy part here will be whether or not in the interest of securing a win for the film ,will Perry and Winfrey ralley behind Monique anyway,or will it disintegrate into a battle of wills, and will they chance an Oscar loss (and their own potential acceptance into the Academy as full members) by banking on Carey's smaller role.
