Mobile telephony is so inexpensive in the U.K.

I pay £10.00 a month for unlimited texts. If I paid £15.00 a month I'd get unlimited web access too.

I hardly use my mobile phone to talk, but if I do, a tenner a month covers the costs.

The U.S.A. is being ripped-off!

Look into one of the local coverage pay as you go phones like METRO PCS.

They offer unlimited every thing for $50ish. You do pay upfront for the phone but you pay for your phone anyway. (speaking of which shouldn't ATT give you a discount if you keep your phone over 2 years?)

And if you have to travel outside the coverage area get a $10 to $19 disposable from wal mart and a minutes card and forward your calls.

I have T-mobile, pay about $130 a month, for 3 lines, 1000 min with a family plan and I have unlimited texting, free nights and weekends, free mobile to mobile and web access for one phone.

I have been with them for about 6 yrs now and wouldn't think of leaving them.

I feel like they consistently get voted best customer service, too. One time T-Mobile service was down for like a day or something and when I called them to inquire they gave me an extra 200 minutes for no reason. Also, I don't think they charge you minutes if you call another T-mobile customer.

Mine is 200 and some change.

You could always go with Boost and get everything for 50 bucks a month. It's pay as you go and my son has it.

$200 a month cell bill is ridiculous.

No, MetroPCS is all over the country. They are not in a lot of small markets, but they are spreading fast.

So it is even less of a problem. We have it here too. As soon as my ATT contract is up I am going to PCS. I want a nice 3G phone with unlimited data and internet!

You had better do some investigating. I know people that switched to them and weren't very happy with them. Especially if they traveled a lot.

When they first came to Dallas, I met several people that switched to them because of the price. The coverage was very limited. For instance, they were covered as long as they were within the city of Dallas, but if they went to Lewisville (which is a surburb about 15 or 20 miles away from Dallas), they may not have been covered and paid for roaming.

I hear that the coverage is much better now. I haven't heard as many complaints about them in the last year or so.

They are similar, but not sure if they are the same company.

Why should i pay for sending text messages while i can do that 24/7 on internet for free?

Why should i spend a lot of money to call a friend all around the world while i can do that on internet for free. (Skype)?

I get ur point now. However, some of us don't sit in front of a pc constantly. We use our mobile phones for the rest. wink

I've had just about enough with this high bill- we have at&t and pay $140 a month- 30 of it are taxes and don't have
-unlimited calling
-unlimited data
-unlimited texting

all we have on our two lines is 1400 anytime minutes- free weekends and evenings

on one of the two lines we have 200 texts- the other line 0

now -I guess since they have been losing customers they started up this A-list tthing- where you can have 5 numbers per line to call unlimited without using your anytime minutes

I still want to leave them- it's ridiculous

-but where should I go?

I had At&T and calls kept getting dropped(especially in mid convo with a few docs) even with family members on the same provider. I got tired of it and dropped them and got Verizon , no more dropped calls for me.

On the bill with AT&T i was paying the same amount as you (for 2 phones)and had a text package as well. watch the texting charges on both phones. and also see if any other of friends or family have the same provider as you. If they have different ones they can charge you as well AND make sure what time ur unlimited time starts on weekends and nights that will get you as well. I had to call and ask WHEN it started on my time zone. I also had a discount through my employer and still do with Verizon.

Read the small print and ask around ALOT. they will sneak in charges under ur nose nod

I now have Verizon and i also have a data and KB package and still get the discount from work it think its 20% off my bill.

Good luck to you.
