I will be watching! Oh and in one of the first few episodes watch for the Prince joke. I am not sure which one but it should be one of the first few.

I love Family Guy and have a huge crush on Seth Macfarlane, but I'm not excited about this at all. The previews I've seen haven't been funny.

shake
very few laughs. And why is Mcfarland so obsessed with Black folks and jokes about how we talk and act? Is he a rich closet wigger or closet racist?

I thought it was really fun. Cleveland is a character that has the stamina and back story to carry his own show. Family Guy was a great premiere too. SO funny. I watched it 3 times last night. American Dad seems to just drag on. 15 minutes into the show and I feel like it should be done and over. It's too manic.

It blew. Family Guy blows too so I'm not surprised.

I keep giving these shows a chance and they continue to be predictable and still rip off the Simpsons. Even last night's episode. I swear I saw a very similar episode on the Simpsons were they were jumping from universe to universe that had slight changes.

LOL They're nothing like The Simpsons, which shows you've not really watched anything with an open mind. Even if it's just some animated show.

LOL They totally bite their ideas from the Simpsons. I didn't say they were like them, which shows you've not really read anything with an open mind. Even if it is just another post you don't agree with.

It's stupid to think a bunch of talent animators and writers are sitting around watching another show thinking "We can do that, and that, and that, and that." Ideas are always going to cross paths, it happens. Ghost Whisperer and Desperate Housewives both jumped forward 5 years recently (GW this year I think). Does that mean one copied the other? Of course not. Shows open with a weird scenario playing out, and something horrific happening then a character wakes up only to realize it was a dream. Cue the opening credits. Is that copying?

No one's biting anyone's script. Seth MacFarland has three shows on FOX. That kind of success doesn't happen from biting someone else's script.

I can honestly say that I've never lol'd while watching Family Guy..and I've watched it several times and really tried to enjoy it, it's not a bad show but not all that funny to me ...so, I haven't checked out the Cleveland Show and probably won't...shrug

I'm not assuming they are doing anything...just that I've seen some of the same jokes and ideas on the Simpsons.

As for people not being successful for biting someone else's ideas...well, sorry you're wrong, that happens all the time and the masses eat that shit up - in movies, shows, music, pretty much anything.

The two shows seem to have different demographics, and there is obviously room for both...but that still doesn't take away from the fact that the shows I've seen had me saying...I've seen this shit before.
