How much do u sleep?

I have never gone more than a day without sleeping and i know about insomniacs. But being that I am unemployed and cant find a job,my sleeping patterns change sumtimes i sleep all day and stay up all nite, but its not like im laying there trying to sleep instead im up and doing stuff like playing ps3 or watching tv. My dad has to take a pill known as SEROQUEL. so how much do u sleep? how long u ever gone without sleep?

I sleep every night. I get about 7-8 hours of sleep each night, but sometimes I still feel tired after getting 8 hours of sleep. There was a period of time about 5 years ago where I went through this really weird phase where I just did'nt feel tired, and did'nt sleep at all for like 7 days. It was really strange, and I don't know what caused it. shrug

I went 2 days without sleeping and ultimately 3 days with about an hour or two of sleep once because of taking drugs. Normally I sleep about 7 hours during the night and 30 minutes to 2 hours during the day.

I'm up at 5 everyday, so I try to get in bed by 9:30 every night. Most nights it doesn't work. confused
On the weekends, even if I try to sleep in, my body still wakes up early. Then there are the late nights I sometimes pull... when I get home I can't get to sleep and am up all day. pout
I tend to wake up during the night, tho. Sometimes it's brief, sometimes I have things on my mind. Friday morning I woke up around 3:45 and stayed awake till my alarm went off. bored

I once went to work, rushed home and showered, hit NYC for a Prince concert, attended the aftershow, got home in time to shower again and get to work, THEN had a staff meeting, and things to do after work. I was up for over 36 hours before I finally faint

Since I've been sick, if I don't get 10 hours of sleep a night, I fall asleep at work. On the weekends, I sleep up to 15 hours.

I really need at least 7 hours a night. I can get by on 6, but not for long. Sleeping that little leaves me logy and off my game.

Every so often, I manage to pull off a 9 or 10-hour sleep on the weekends. That is pure heaven. cloud9

It depends. On Friday I took a nap from 2:30 - 7:00 pm and then I slept from 2:00 - 11:00 am lol

During the week I sleep like five hours, sometimes six.

For years (18-32 roughly), I lived on no more than 5 hrs sleep a night, sometimes less, often catching up on weekends.
I didn't realize that I was actually tired all the time and that it was affecting my mental and physical health, probably for the long term.
For the last 6 years, thanks to my wife, I'm up to around 7 hrs a night. Since having kids, this has been severley disturbed though, and I'm now acutely aware of how it affects my mood and health.

I wish I could get more hours of sleep in but between work and school/activity schedules and house duties its very hard. Even my weekends can be very busy. Every now and then I close my room door for an hour nap or peace and quiet.

I don't much care for winter, but the shorter days/longer nights are good for one thing: it makes it so much easier to go to bed early and sleep a little later (especially on weekends). And if you get a rainy or snowy afternoon...it's nap time! woot!

Depends on my schedule. If I'm on killer AM shifts (up by 0230am) I don't sleep for more then 1-2 hours but on PM's I may average on about 4-6 hours.

I get about 4-5 hours a night with no real regularity. I've managed (and mismanaged) insomnia since I was a kid, so my sleep patterns are often crap.

Like your dad, dance4me3121, I also have a Seroquel prescription (partly as a sleep aid; partly to help with depressive periods). It knocks me out like nothing I've experienced before, and when I MUST sleep for longer stretches than are typical for me, I use it. But Seroquel comes along with some intimidating stories of dependence and lowering the seizure threshold -- and I've found it has made me grind my teeth -- so I have to admit I'm very cautious about using it.

my ambien is my friend! hugI have severe insomnia. I would sleep (and not good sleep) for a few hours and be very tired for work. Ambien keeps me sleeping . One night it knocked me out so fast I was like "daaaaamn" when I woke up in the morning.

I have had this problem forever. I fight cronic depression and even though I am alot better now that I have meds I still will literally fall asleep out of the blue if I don't find the 10 hrs in a day. It consists of 8 at night and 2 naps. Yikes!!! I envy insomniacs; just 2 days ago in fact I figured out how much more awake and useful time someone like Prince or Madonna has in a week than I do. I have tried to work it down to a smaller # but to no avail.

Six - seven hours a night. I used to never nap during the day, but I do every now and then. I hate it, though. Can't stand naps.

I remember when our first child it 2, and how surprised I was by how much I now dreaded daylight savings time.

It's hard to get a kid to bed at 8:00 when it doesn't get dark until 9:00!

Now, I usually get about 8, which has really helped when I get to the weekends; I no longer need to sleep all weekend to catch up. Before, when I was hating my job and suffering insomnia, I'd get about 6 hours (or less) during the week, then crash on the weekends. About once every few months, I'll have a day where I sleep 10+ hours. cloud9

My problem is that I hate waking up in the mornings - whether it's 6am or 10am - I just hate waking up. Once I'm out of bed it's fine; but everyday that's a struggle. I've always been like that.

I need 7 hours, prefer 8. On 6 hours I'm not a happy puppy.
I can never sleep during the day, even if I'm tired.
If I work late and get home at 8 I have trouble sleeping coz I'm still active.
In general routine I need to go to bed the moment I feel tired because if I ride it out to go to bed a little later I kick into automatic pilot and then can't get to sleep. When it's cold and dark in winter I like to sleep longer.
