The Singles Thread Single folks holla  I have been single now for some years after getting divorced (Hallelujah ) and I've started to think that I like being single. I think some folks are not meant to be married and I am one of them  Who else out there likes being single? Do you find that there are certain things you do that keeps you single? Do you just like the freedom? What's the real deal with this single thang? | |

Well....
It's Friday night and we're on here... 
There are times when I really like being single- like when I want to hang out at 1 o'clock in the morning and I have no husband or kids to defer to. I have my own money, my own space, and my privacy. My house is quiet. 
But there are times when I wish I had someone to share the bills with, or that space with, and my house is too quiet- and lonely. Times like holidays are sometimes hard for me. Yes, I have my parents and sister- but even she's getting married. And yeah, I wonder what it is that keeps me single... it certainly wasn't my intention. I can't seem to meet the right person.  I'm single. I like it most of the time but I do get lonely. But I love not having to put up with anyone else's bullshit, aside from my own. I'm extremely picky and socially awkward so that is what keeps me single.

I love being single for two reasons:
I see the drama in most of my friends' relationships and FUCK THAT!!!! I know me and I like to take care of people. Right now, I need to take care of myself. I am not even remotely open to being with anyone right now. Once my health is under control and I get my degree next year, I may think about it. | |

Been single for over two years now and after an 11 year relationship, being single has taken some getting used to  and I do feel lonely most of the time
but I definitely don't miss the drama that came with that relationship so glad that's over! Rhythm floods my heart♥The melody it feeds my soul | |

Being single is most familiar to me. Part of me would love to have a mate, but reflecting on the options of who has crossed my path this year alone; I'm cool with just dealing with me. I don't have the time nor interest in sorting through the muck and mire of folks. Yet, I still hold out that there is somebody out there, but he is sure taking his sweet time with making his presence known.  "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
