Stick with your meds as sucky as they are.
Take them consistently at the same time every day. Hang in there! I'm firmly planted in denial

Too bad. Is it true that once you start taking blood pressure medicine that you have to take it for the rest of your life?

Yes and no. (I'm not a doctor or anything, just speaking from what I've seen) If your high blood pressure is weight and diet related, you may be able to come off the meds if you make changes to your diet/lifestyle and lose enough weight. If your high blood pressure is of the more hereditary/genetic variety, you would more likely be on the medications for the rest of your life as the issue is unlikely to correct itself. Glad they caught it before there were serious problems.
I take diabetes medicine (pills) every day, and I guess I will for the rest of my life. It's no big deal, to me it's just three more vitamins. I hope there aren't any side effects to your meds. On the other hand, maybe we could use you being a little loopy when you make your football picks. You're damn unbeatable! j/k

Be glad that at least you don't have to take insulin shots. My friend's 9 year old niece was just diagnosed with type 1.
