Anyone ever get a "Direct Buy" membership? I am curious if any orgers have or have had a "Direct Buy" membership? I have been doing some remodeling lately at my home, and would like to buy some new furniture. But I want to know if it's worth the membership price? It's like a little cult, they will not tell me the membership price over the phone, I need to go to an "open house" I just want to know if it's worth the effort? The closest "Direct Buy" is an hour away, and I do not want to waste my time if it's not going to be worth it. Anyone have any history with this company?

Google Direct Buy good idea? and see what comes up... I think you have to be prepared to buy every last thing there in order to make it worth anything... something about membership fees...

I just do not want to pay for a membership for something, then never buy anything.
It's not like I will be buying furniture all year long, I just need a few odds and ends. Also, the lady who I spoke to on the phone said, no kids under 12 allowed in the showrooms. WTF? I need to find a babysitter to shop for my new sofa..

I need to find a babysitter to shop for my new sofa.. you should have asked why that was. Myself personally,if I had kids,I would'nt take them with me anyway, furnature shopping is not all that exciting for them, and if they start getting fussy,I would feel like I had to hurry. How much is the membership? Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

How much is the membership? There's the problem, they do not tell you how much the membership price is over the phone. I was hoping someone here knew, so that i could make a decision to pursue this or not.

Around 2004 My Wife had set up an appt to go see the showroom. I of course did not want to go, because i knew what they wanted, but my wife was like let's go anyway just to see. Well after the demo. we talked to a saleperson they wanted $3,500 to join. I was done and ready to go,But the salesman did not let up. I even told him we did not have the money for that but, he kept up the pressure. I finally told no the price was too high and that we would not be joining. why in God's name do u wanna make me cry

Dear god almighty, wholly cow! Thanks for telling me this, I did not want to drive an hour to go to an open house, and then find out I was not going to join.

And THAT ladies and gents is why you should try your hardest to shop local with independent small businesses! I understand it's not easy considering how some Big Businesses have the cash & resources to spoon feed us our daily goods, but give us little guys a shot too! You might discover a retailer or two who are really working hard to EARN your trust AND your business!! Perchance do you need Drapes or Blinds?? www.downtown-interiors.com A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon
