I guess everyone has different tastes for social events, and mine are a bit more along the lines of say, Colin Cowie. I've produced wedding editorials for fashion magazines in Europe, so actually I don't think it's a matter of who here can top the taste of what we see in the pics. We just see things differently with how one should be attired for weddings. Actually, I think there were some accents at their wedding that weren't so bad. They had a really nice cake for example...and they flowers weren't bad at all. Color coordination wise, I think they did a good job, but unfortunately it's just the wedding attire which is off kilter for me. That Tuxedo Train thing is...welll..just no...Also, because the wedding is inside a reception hall, I can't tell what time of day this was held, but somehow it feels like it's an after 4pm kind of ceremony. In that case the groom(s) should not have been wearing attire modeled after the traditional grey morning suit. Don't get me wrong, stylistically speaking, I'm all for avante garde weddings as well as traditionally themed ones. But for me it's imperative that all the style components mesh together consistently and harmoniously, whether it's punk rock wedding, new age bonding ceremony or New England evening affair .

Its average, especially when you take into account a limited budget and the clients having input in what they want their wedding to look like. But on average there are plenty of no's that have to be compromised, not everyone has a celebrity budget and can afford to have multiple weddings by the best designers money can buy. I just feel that the jokes are directed more at the cost of exactly what the title this thread says. If there was a beautiful woman for the traditional bride the comments would be completely different or stifled. And on the note of average, the people taking shots at this average wedding would not have planned a wedding any better. Most weddings are just tacky period. I don't think folk are making fun at the cost of the wedding.
At least that's not what I took from the comments (or what I mean by mine). It's obvious that a lot of thought and effort went into the event. Tacky doesn't always come easy. I think the laughs are aimed mostly at Silkylocs, who I'm willing to bet masterminded (groomzilla'd) the whole thing or a good part of it. It's like if we had an actual wedding, hubby would step back, put his hands up in the air and be all "Nah.You do this and I'll just show up." cuz he knows better. And no. I probably wouldn't do any better. But it would be a lot simpler and I would not have a coattrain. Cuz it's not me. Most folk here are just havin fun. Why are you turnin all un-bitchy on us nowwwww???
