But then again, I don't find horror movies particularly scary, though I do 'jump' at jump scenes. I'm also not the least bit afraid of the dark or believe in ghosts. boxed

It may be, but I love this stuff.

You have never ever ever experienced anything that felt a little bit wonky?

I cannot wait for this movie!!!! It's playing in limited areas right now. I'm going to go see it on Friday. I have to drive to Santa Cruz to see it. It's not far. For those that don't know Santa Cruz, California, it was Santa Carla in the movie LOST BOYS.

This better be good!!!!

I have a friend who saw this; he said he went in thinking it's just another marketing scheme to get people in, he said that it literally scared the wits out of him. What made it scary, he said, is that it forces you to use your imagination, and his imagination got away from him in a big way.

Where's it playing in Santa Cruz? I'm like 30 mins from there.

Yes. I think it's playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It played last weekend and it sold out. I have tickets for Friday at Midnight.

No. It was in limited release, 10 theaters in the U.S. I guess there was more demand and now they are also showing it in a bunch of other theaters. They're still playing it in Santa Cruz, where I bought the tix but if I didn't have to drive 35 miles it would be better.

If you hated The Blair Witch Project (which I saw for free at a single screen type arthouse theater and loved before it's eventual wide release), don't bother. But if you felt Blair Witch has been the only NEW direction serious horror film that put out a thick slab of terror that stayed the night long after the movie... then see this. It's not as real, but it's got some good chills.

The cine-motion sickness prone must stay home, or shut their eyes. You know who you are after Blair Witch and Cloverfield... that pseudo-docu-sloppy-handheld style nauseates you like food poisoning, or a masochistic workout, so spare yourself... or bring a vomit bag stolen from that last plane ride.

Expect a packed enthusiastic auditorium of horror-philes because it's only screening at midnight. And, if you are interested, please do see this before the hype and watercooler buildup that will inevitably sink it upon conventional wide Hollywood release.

There are two GREAT chilling shocks that I recall, and one very nice slow chill based only on an expression. There's a little bit of frustration in believing the likelihood that this couple would stand each other's behavior or the (E.T.-like) telltale signs of a demon that's growing to be a bad roommate. Why didn't they just camp out at Denny's?

And there is one frustratingly moment that is a bit too "Witchboard" for me.

But it was fun.

I loved it!!

I had so much fun at the midnight showing last night with 3 of my cousins. We all came out laughing because we all had such a good time. Unfortunately we didn't sit together because we got there in the nick of time. There was a car accident in the Santa Cruz mountains. A 35 minute ride turned into 2 1/2 hours. Luckily we left super early. I thought there was going to be a line and I didn't want to have front row.

For me, the movie was creepy throughout and it just got more intense as it went along. There is one scene that just freaked me the fuck out. I wont say yet. I don't want to spoil it. It wasn't a groundbreaking scene, it just stuck with me.

it might be lame unless you have loud nice sound and a BIG screen with NO distractions or pauses. But I think the whole fun point of this movie is the midnight screening with a packed house of screaming whimpering people.

i generally don't buy or enjoy this kinda shit, ghosts and demons and shit (those paranormal reality tv shows and junk bored2), but the whole set-up, with it being real (even though it's bullshit lol) reminded me of blair witch (which i didn't mind and this i would say was a little better made though). the door moving slightly and all that shit was kinda whack and it took forever watching these two's annoying ass relationship blahblah (the girl was kinda thick sexy, which was refreshing nuts lol), but it drew me in like that and not knowing what was gonna happen and by the end i was like omfg like everyone else. it was decent. FAR from being "one of the scariest movies ever" like it boasts, but creepy and rather entertaining for what it was cool popcorn. if it had been done like a regular hollywood flick, it would'a been fucking awful though nod nuts
For all time I am with you, you are with me.

YES YES YES! This movie ROCKED! Even better than "Zombieland"!

It's not like it will scare you shitless at the theater, although it kind of will, but you will NOT sleep well after you see it.

LOVED IT!

Anytime you deal with ghost or the boogie man, it's hard for me to take the premise seriously enough to be frightened by it.
