What are the chances of contracting HIV through oral sex if you're the recipient and not the person performing the fellatio?
I'm being told that it is very small by one person, but pretty risky by another.
I don't have HIV but it dawned on me that it can't possibly be as safe as most people think it is. I mean, everyone I knows wears condoms, but nobody I know has oral sex with a condom.
Anyone know?

If your getting head the risk is minimal, unless the person going down on you is cutting you with his/her teeth and is infected. If that's going on you should find a more experienced person.

Thanks for bringing this up, HIV and AIDS is rarely talked about in the press. 9,000 people in the USA alone get infected every year. I've read about the limited sucess with the Vaccine trials in Thailand, so there is reason for hope for a cure in the future.

You have other things to worry about than HIV when getting head. The human mouth is one of the dirtiest body parts. Full of bacteria and can transmit other viruses. Getting head via condom is good for you but not the giver...I was watching a sex ed show and they said the latex chemical and spermicides that some condoms have rots the teeth. Just get tested and get your freak on with somebody who don't have any shit.
