I currently have an 8 year old white dwarf pomeranian Marvin and a cat Minnie. In the past I also had a german shepherd, a german short haired pointer, another pomeranian and a chihuahua. I've also had a goat, an avery of trained pigeons, quails, and lots of other types of birds like lovebirds, canaries, budgies, hens, over 30 goldfish, mexican walking fish, eel and a water dragon (which was discovered in my backyard by accident). I think that's about it so I'm definately a lover of animals. mexican walking fish? water dragons? i need to start watching Animal Planet more often... Tehehehe yah they're low maintenance pets...

PanthaGirl said: A stray golden retriever ended up on my lawn last night barking for attention. His large size was intimidating but he was harmless, overweight, struggled to walk and seemed to have maybe been struck by a car or person but I couldn't really tell because I didn't want to touch the leg wound. It may have been his hip or arthritis too. I fed him, gave him water, and called the after hours RSPCA and the local council both refused to come and pick him up at that hour (it was 1am) because he wasn't a threat to anyone. I was shocked at their response afterall what is the point of these organisations if they aren't willing to help and assist stray injured animals. I couldn't lift him, he would have weighed over 70kgs so he slept on my porch, I stayed up with him most of the night and then I went to bed for a couple hours and I checked on him at sunrise and he was gone. I haven't been able to get him outta my head. I have a feeling he strayed from an abusive situation because he was extremely overfed and distressed. I drove around the neighbourhood searching for him but with zero results. After this incident my man and I decided today we will look into raising a male Akita and a female Samoyed next year.
That was sweet of you to take care of that poor dog like that. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

tomorrow, starting around 10 am, I'm gonna have an all day buzz...I don't plan on getting drunk but do plan to keep just enough alcohol in my system to keep my spirits lively...I'll nip from the bottle all the way to Orlando, nip from the bottle while we're at the resort, and nip from the bar during the concert...yes, I'm at the age where it's wise to plan alcoholic endeavors...House of Blues, here I come...pictures to follow, stay tuned...

I think I've lost the ability to sleep at normal hours. I go to bed at normal times and just kick around in bed for about seven hundred hours, before finally dropping off at god knows what time. Then when my alarm goes off I hit snooze over and over again, telling myself I should get up so I don't sleep the whole day.
So I sleep until early afternoon, thus making sure I am too awake to sleep when I should that night. Again. Why don't I have the willpower to NOT hit snooze? Amen, girl!! I feel the SAME way. Lol I recently lost my job and are sooooo done with these corporations. I so do not belong in them, I don't conform to the corporate bullshit most of the time, play the games, etc. I lost mine because of the economy but that make me feel any better. I always hated corporate America from my first job out of college. I have irons in the fire to start my own shit, just gonna take some time to get it off the ground.

Awww, I'm sorry to hear that you lost your job, that really sux. I hear ya, I don't belong in corporate America either. I just don't fit into that scene, no matter how hard I try. I hate office politics and all that shit, it's just not me. Good luck with starting your own business, I know you will be successful. What type of business are you thinking about starting? I have often thought about starting my own business too, but not sure if I should try it. I'm afraid it will flop, I won't be successful, etc., etc. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I inherited these awesome chairs from a storage place. Only problem was they were the wrong colour, so I had the bright idea to stain them to match my other furniture.
omg do I suck at this!!!! I tried doing one only and completely stuffed it up. Worst thing it, while I was in a D.I.Y mode I rushed out and bought a beautiful art deco hall table I've had my eye on. It needs lots of work and now I've discovered that I'm shit at this sort of thing. I have one patchy chair, five chairs sitting there laughing at me and now I'm worried the table will turn up, see the chairs and run away screaming back to the 1930's where it came from. Have decided to change DIY to DIL (Do It Later) when my best friend who knows what he's doing turns up. You have all this stuff that "if only" you could fix it or get someone else to fix it or figure out where you can sell it a reasonable price, etc it all would be great. It's the kind of stuff you can't easily get rid of. I could see me keeping this messed up, but yet still beautiful, set of yours for years. Good luck getting the friend to correct the problem. My mother died in 2003 suddenly (she was hit by a truck) and I had a couple of weeks to move her stuff out of her apartment. I couldn't process the whole thing. Anyway she had this dish set that was her friends (mary would have been about 105 now) mothers but this china has no date on the back and is not perfect in quantity. Anyway part of me just wants to give it to the nearest taker and the other part says "it could be worth alot of money and you could use the money!!!" I would hate to find out that it's worth a few grande when my car isn't. This is the diary of a pack rat, basically. There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

Oh no, you reminded me of my mother's other china. Oh yeah, there is more. It's quite pretty and given to her by her Irish mother-in-law. The white china with the green leaves has never been used once to my knowledge but can't let that go either. It's got connections to BOTH my mom and my homely grandemother who everyone said was a saint and funny as hell to boot. She died 7 years before I was born so I can't say. She was very Catholic and very Irish. Drank brews on the front porch and invited the Sisters over for a cold one too. Anyway my daughter found the set, unpacked it and started playing with it!!! The thing had never been used and was always treated as holy, I just couldn't believe it. Maybe she thought "Oh, just more of Mom's wrapped up pretty junk". Now I feel like if I don't enjoy some of this stuff it's just going to get broken. There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. I'm sorry to hear about your mom being hit by a truck and passing away. That must have been awful. Thanks. She was in the crosswalk infront of,of all places, her church. She was 76 at the time and quite healthy. Unfortunately the guy had a plow attachment on the front of his truck and that's what sealed the deal.
