What Networking Sites do y'all use/find effective for business? I get invites from people I know in LinkedIn now and then. I'm signed up but my profile is 0% complete.
I'm all for Internet networking. Most of my sales and gallery contacts start off online. I just for some reason had the impression that this site might be more for corporate type job searches and such. What sites do y'all use? For what sort of business? Which do you find most effective? Which are free and effective? [Edited 9/24/09 22:50pm]

I'm on it for free and I only think it shows any value when you pay to upgrade but I'm just not down for that when there's so much FREE stuff available... This is primarily for business contacts etc and has very rarely come in handy for anyone I know.

[Edited 9/24/09 22:50pm] Because of your Art (which is AWESOME!) you might want to give facebook ads a short try. You know, the ones that show up on the right side of the news feed. You can create your ad really easily and I would recommend the cost-per-click method. What I liked about it was how you can totally fine tune your target market, it's really detailed. On the flip side, I didn't get a single client but I treat it all as a learning experience and I spent less than $150 for a 6 month run... A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon

I made one for my artist page once, just to check it out amd liked the whole target audience thing also. I only did it for about a week, just out of curiosity. I know I need to do it longer. I can't decide if I should do it for my website (online portfolio) or for my Etsy shop.

Then if/when you see results move on to represent your online portfolio... A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon
