Charade (with Audrey Hepburn)
The Thomas Crowne Affair (I actually prefer the remake with Pierce Brosnan.) Le Grand Bleu (A cult classic in France.) Beautiful Girls I'm also sucker for documentaries, so I would recommend: Helvetica - Yes, an entire film about the type-face. You'll never look at it the same way again if you watch this. The Rape of Europa - It's about the Nazi's systematic plunder of Europe's artwork and culture. Did you know there was a specific unit of the Allies dedicated to saving/recovering art stolen or destroyed during the war? Standing in the Shadow of Motown -- About Motown's "house band", The Funk Brothers. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Wow this is great! I have not seen or heard of most of these. Imago, the Titanic post was greatness...
I've only seen the Motown documentary (which was so great to see those guys get their due) and a just few others. The key is to actually watch them now. I'll get to as many of these as possible over the next few weeks and let you know what I find. If anyone actually tries out Nobody's Fool, please let me know. I'd love to see that movie gain a few more fans.

Interesting choices so far! I will have to come back to this when my mind is fresher, but right now I'm watching The Children's Hour and I suppose it's lesser known to some (although the 2 stars are pretty well known)
I recommend it though If you will, so will I

Awesome move and a lot of people have seen a shitty Hollywood remake of it. (City of Angels) Seeing this could teach people that don't know how Hollywood shits out soulless regurgitations of quality movies. also... You haven't even seen the remake of this one yet, as it was decided to greenlight the remake before it even hit theaters in the US, but just know this: the Hollywood studio thought the title was too complex for American audiences and has changed it. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Don't watch it once if you want to truly get the film because its confusing as ALL hell(at least to me). You’ve been forewarned.

Because you probably think Spike Lee's 1st movie was "Do the Right Thing". Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

I knew about "Gotta Have It" as well, but I thought "School Daze" would appeal to more people. If you wanna go way back, his 1st was "Joe's Bed-Sty Barber Shop - We Cut Heads". Funny that the "Mars Blackmon" Character from the Nike commercials was from "She's Gotta Have It". Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. But 10 minutes into this movie I was in love with it's characters, the theme of the movie, and just about everything in it. It's brilliant little flick, and shows that sweetness can be found in the most bizarre of situations. All it takes is a little respect and understanding. It was such a sweet movie.

I thought the way the doctor treated the entire process of healing Lars was the sweetest part of the movie. I swear to god, there have been few movies that touched me like this one has. At a time when people are tripping out on crap like "Devil Wears Prada" or brainless action flicks, this movie unpretentiously charmed me.

I loved it so much I watched twice in a row back-to-back Honestly, it was just incredible. And I loved how the church members chose to embrace his 'perversion' instead of criticizing him, although they knew very little about his condition. They chose mercy over judgment. Goddamnit, Jason, I'm going to have to see it again

When he let's her 'die', I actually got quite emotional Not because she had become real to me, but because of what she represented. He was finally allowing himself to grieve and move on... a very painful process for many of us. His was in the most literal yet abstract sense at the same time. It was very powerful. God, I love this movie. I'm so glad you recommended it.
