Computer Purchasing Question - For The Org Computer Geeks Is it better to buy computer hardware separately (eg. mouse, tower, monitor, etc); or buy a complete computer? Looking at the cost as well.
I'm debating. I'm doing some research before I go run out and buy a PC. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

If you already have keyboard, mouse, and a monitor, then just get a box.
Dell makes a really great mini-box for configurations like that for between 600 and 700 bucks that serves 99% of most user's needs. The cool thing about these tiny systems are than regular computers. <-- The little blue thing is the actual computer. [Edited 9/20/09 22:33pm]

I'm looking at new computers too and would love that tiny size In all honesty,y I would buy a mac mini over any of the PC clones. But that's just cause they're more stable computers and the OS is a lot more stable. If you have to own a PC and don't want to spend lots of money on one, that Dell system is actually really cool.
