Cheating on Your Hairstylist

Do you?

I love the way our current hairstylist cuts hair. She is thorough, knows what she's doing and I don't hate my haircuts 2 weeks later (as in many other cases).

So what's the problem?
She takes so damn long. LAWD. I know what the issue is. She cannot talk and work at the same time. The second she speaks or answers a question, the cutting implements leave your head and don't return until her statement is fully expressed. lol And I mean FULLY! wall

I've wanted to try out some other stylists at the salon (expecially this FIERCE woman who's always wearing the flashiest (but in a fashionable way) shit). She's a gay man's fruit-fly wet dream come true.

But I feel bad to cheat on our Jennie. She's such a sweetheart and makes a big fuss every time we come in. touched

AND yes, she does give a very good haircut. nod

We have now to go in separately to get our haircuts because she takes a good hour with each. faint It's never an Oh let me just run in for a quick trim situation with this lady.

I don't go to a fancy salon either. I love me some Haircuttery boxed.
If I was just getting a buzz cut I might not care for it to be someone different each time. But I have fine hair (thinner as I get older mad). Thankfully I have a lot, but it being fine combined with how one side curls more than the other and my neurosis...I kinda like having a history and someone who knows what to do with it.

I just cheated on mine! She's great and really in demand but she also cannot do the quick trim and the last time I suggested I go short she was just flat out "No we're not doing that". Would not have not been worth the fallout to argue.

So I went to a little barbers close by. I was done in 15 minutes and its just what I wanted. Thankfully the hairdresser I cheated on is knocked up so people are scrambling to book their appointments before she's on maternity leave. By the time she's back, my hair will have grown out, and I'll be ready to get my colour done again, which she does awesomely!

One of the problems I hate about being laid off is that I couldn't go to my regular hairstylist.

I always felt guilty going to other people instead of him. He's been my stylist for many years and has rocked my hair so fucking goooood that I just hate not being able to see him anymore.

I swear, when the dust settles and I'm back on my feet and back in Tampa, I'm going to make it up to him. I'm going to let him give me a weave if he wants to mushy

You're hair stylist is as important as your doctor! no no no!

Yah I do cheat on my stylist. Bash is fantastic but due to my hours he's a bit out of the way and usually trims too much off the length (my hair is past my waist and hips) , no matter what I say he does his own thing. My hair is now mostly looked after by Carla at another salon and her quality is just as high, she trims without taking too much off and is cheaper at only $55 for a trim.

I buzz my own hair. (Aren't I butch?) But when I did get my hair "did" by a pro, I can't say I'd have had any loyalty to the chick who cut my hair had she not been the most kick-$#@! stylist ever to touch a black man's head. She had insane skills, but she also talked too much, double booked appointment times, was slow as molasses when she did leave my times open and, honestly, was apparently high on coke half the time. confused If I thought for a second that anyone else could have rocked my hair 1/2 as well as she did, I'd have given her the pink slip in a heartbeat!

HOWEVER...

Cheating on your stylist with another stylist in the same salon!?!? disbelief That's some end-of-the-world-type evil right there!! I just don't think I'd have the spine to do something like that.

My mom was my hairdresser my entire life, up until a few years ago.
sigh

I find it really hard to go to a complete stranger and tell them what I want.

I usually just tell them to do what they think will look best. I have been lucky so far.

I'd have to agree, thats just not right. Not like the thought hasn't crossed my mind though...the girl I go to now to do my hair, she's okay, but she's not the best I've been to. Her prices are reasonable and she doesn't take a long time, but she hardly knows any new ways to style my hair..nor do I think she is interested in trying something different. I'm thinking about suggesting some things for her to do to my hair since my birthday is next week...but if she comes at me with some "well thats not going to look right" type stuff, I may have to think about bouncing to somebody else. I've left so many hairstylists, its not even funny. I cheated on one, then tried to go back and she was still stuck on stupid, so I had to go back to the stylist I originally left her for. Now this one, I may have to leave in the next 6 months. I can't get with stylists who are comfortable with giving you the same style every two weeks and not innovative.

My stylist is my step-sister so I would feel tremendously guilty if I went to someone else because she'd definitely know about it. I've been toying around with dyeing my own hair again because it's way, way, way cheaper. My step-sister gives me a huge discount and that is why I go to her. And she is a great stylist too but sometimes I feel like I can't afford it even with her huge discount. sigh Why do I have to have gray hair?

Have you ever had someone cutting your hair and they screw it up so bad you say something about it?

I actually made a woman shave my head after she fucked it up.
