bitchy coworker vent!

Have you ever worked with a person that your job title is highly superior to, yet they want to tell YOU what to do and argue with you when you tell them what to do? And then think it's cute to say "But I'm not the supervisor"....

I have the pleasure to have one of those coworkers. She is not even 3-4 weeks out from starting the job, yet she is a sour, bitchy c-bomb. NO ONE likes her. I tried to be somewhat nice-ish to her, because being a bit of a c-bomb myself, I can understand....but then again being a bit of a c-bomb myself means I'm biting my tongue and trying not to grab her by the damn neck and choke her until she shuts the fuck up.

I tell this chick to recommend a simple thing to a client and she seriously began to argue my judgement. In front of other staff members.I cut the side eye so hard at her that after about a minute she FINALLY got the hint and shut the hell up and commenced to do her fucking job.The best part was overhearing her today complain about ME and MY attitude. (Again, not doing her job, though)

Why does it have to be wrong to take someone by the back of their head and slam their front teeth into a wall? eek Because breathe deeply, meditation techniques and lavender oil ain't really cutting it for me.... mad

Note to self: typing "Do not piss off BB..."

No, seriously...
I totally understand what U mean. We're expected to be "the bigger person" and to be "professional", but we feel like , "WHY DO I HAVE TO BE THE ONLY ONE?!"

I completely lost it on Tuesday (& Wednesday- it continued redface) because I asked another teacher not to let the kids go in the refrigerator in my classroom, and I walk in and kids are drinking MY bottles of water! pissed
THEN she got snippy! "We'll replace them rolleyes"
Uh, no... I told your ass NOT to let the kids have them. mad
So today (Sat) I went to the school and unplugged the damn icebox and moved it out of the room! hmph!

Now... whew thanks for letting me vent... back to U...
Unfortunately U can't hit/hurt her, so I suggest it's time to take her aside and explain that it was not appropriate to question U in front of everyone like that. If she has a question in the future, U can discuss it privately (either that or U will be waiting for her after work- she has a choice! giggle)
No seriously- is it possible to sit her down?

Which do you think is better, a sit-down, or maybe a very firm counter statement the next time this co-worker shows her ass in front of all their colleagues? Notice I didn't say beat the heffa down, but I'm just thinking how the boundaries of hierarchy can be established and respected, maybe with a witness around for proof support in case of future reprimands....

After 7 months of doing this job alone I finally got some help. Or so I thought. As most of you know I went to spend a week with my husband soon after his return from overseas. Now the timing of this trip was poor, there is nothing I could do about that but felt like I could leave certain tasks to get done in my absence all of which could have waited for my return, but since there was someone here, I left instructions on what to do and how to do them. Since this person has been hired with some experience I figured that she would be ok.
When I got back I found that this person had taken the initiative to do something that had caused a problem. When I asked her about it she swore it was what I told her to do. Well this is not possible because it made no logical sense that I would tell her to do something that I could have completed myself long before this trip. She insisted and I did some background checking and went back to her with my findings. Not only did she lie about it, she commenced to lying on everyone else in the process and swore that it was what she was told. So now I have a problem, I don’t trust her, I have to train her, I did warn her not to lie to me again but she won’t fess up to lying in the first place.

I really don’t need this shit.

The reason I said to sit down with her is because if she really is THAT bitchy, you don't want to appear argumentative or like you're just trying to "get back at her in front of people"- esp. if U already have a rep of your own. Tell her you are giving her the courtesy of speaking to her in private. People are funny. All of a sudden it'll look like you're "picking on the new girl".
In that discussion, though, you can remind her that the next time she does it, it will NOT be addressed privately- and "neither of us wants a public scene."
