Saying YES when you mean NO.. I notice lately that I have been agreeing to do things when I know I really don't want to , then I get very angry at myself and wonder why I said yes! Do you ever do that? Is it a sign of something going on within me? My job asked me to stay late and I agreed, when I know all week I had been looking forward to getting off early that day. Then someone asked to borrow money and I said yes and was mad the rest of the day. WTF??

I say no without thinking to most everything I'm a horrible parent, the kids don't even bother asking me me for stuff any more - they go pester their father instead

I kinda know what you're talking about.
I sometimes agree to do something and I almost immediately realize it was a bad decision. But I think we can learn from that and stop making wrong decisions, at least in such a silly way.

One good way to get round making a snap decision ( unless you absolutely have to ) is tell the person that you ll get back to them. Then you can think about the whether you want to say yes or no.

If you always say no, it's easy for the kids. They just have to learn how to do a negative question. At least it worked with my mother.

Oh gawd, YES!!!
Saying yes so much because I'm too nice has gotten me into situations that I so don't want to be in...I hate it when I do that! surviving on the thought of loving you, it's just like the water
I ain't felt this way in years...

Sometimes I do. Most of the times I just say what I mean. It makes life easier

I used to say "yes" far too often, then I started feeling used/abused/shitty & realized I was only bringing it on myself. I'm way more honest now & happier for it... Sometimes part of saying "yes" to everyone is thinking you don't deserve things for yourself, be it time, $, convenience, whatever. Make peace w/ that thought (or the need to please, wherever it comes from for you) & it'll get easier to say "no"...

Wondering how many women said "yes" to a marriage proposal when they meant "no"

Probably slightly more than men who felt pressured into making a marriage proposal. [Edited 9/21/09 12:18pm]
