Most the women I know that do it, are doing it to hide their grey hair better

nod I get my hair highlighted with blone streaks for that very reason. When my hair is not highlighted, I don't like it. It's too dark, and I can see the grey in my hair. lol So I get it highlighted to cover that grey up. Call me vain or whatever, but I don't like seeing grey hair. lol It looks awful. ill

I have a friend that does this - it makes her actually look older shrug anyway - who cares what colour people wanna make their hair

it's theirs, and cuz they can

and that's really all that matters

giggle I get my hair highlighted in order to maybe look a bit older. I'm in my 40's and get people mistakening me for still being in my 20's. lol Which is a good thing, since I have older siblings who also look younger than their true age. In some ways it's good, and in other ways, it's not so good, depending on how you look at it. smile

It's a way of changing up their look, like a fun clothing accessory. But... bad fake blonde colors look horrible!

As far as culturally, I think it's funny that some people describe it as an American standard of beauty...

A blonde person in Japan is treated like something special. I know this from friends who have lived there for a year or two.

There is something creepy about a woman of a certain age having long, blond hair and from the back your thinking "wow" and then you see the face and she looks like an old prune.

By the way did you know natural blondes/red skin type age faster than brunette types?

I think it's creepier to think that every head of long blonde hair is gracing the head of someone you want to objectify or hit on confused Gross...

Well you obviously misunderstand me, considering I am woman myself I wouldn't want to hit on a woman with blond hair or any woman for that matter. But there seems is a general concensus that blonds do get alot of attention and I have seen it happened quite alot; a man sees a woman from the back, the long blond hair is an added attraction, thinking because she has blond hair she is probably attractive and she turns around and her face is like an old prune. I am sure we have all seen it.

The fact that you're a woman makes the comment worse lol

What is the attraction to being or wanting to be a blonde??

It's the myth rumor AND stereotype that blonds can get dirty a lot faster than brunettes.

I was born with blonde hair and blue eyes. Why should I somehow feel ashamed to be what I am?

What a weird question. confused

Nahh, I prefer my woman nice and curvy, black or dark brown hair, brown or olive green eyes, and tan. And I am white smile . I've never found the pale skinny Scandinavian look sexy at all.

I've never even been tempted to go blonde.

As dark as my hair is, I'd have to color every three weeks. And if I did that, I wouldn't have any hair left. lol

Back when I was doing radio, a bizarrely large number of men thought I was blonde, just based on my voice. (Not sure why - that's just what they told me.) But I don't think blonde hair would suit my personality, at all.

I have golden brown streaks in my hair .. I always color my hair because I don't care for the all black natural color. I change it red streaks sometimes.
