I believe that, at the very least, the alleged victim should be charged with filing a false official report...and fined the amount of money that had to be spent to look into her allegations....but I think the fault lies with whoever it was (media, cops, school administrators, etc.) who went public before the basic facts of the case were verified....as we've seen in other cases, things get sensationalized to the point of frenzy...people are accused, convicted, and executed before their day in court...and then the truth comes out and everybody involved ends up looking like asses...
Part of my job in the Army is processing sexual harassment complaints, among other things, and claims that eventually turn out to be phony do more damage in that people either don't believe a true story, or worse, won't report a true incident because they don't think anyone will believe them... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.
