That sucks because I wont see him as often but one monkey dont stop a show.

dreamfactory313 said: Ok guys. Today, I was walking the hall to the PT offices for sitting rounds and as I walked past the elevators, there he was Styrofoam coffee cup in hand, crisp white lab coat on, lavender tie, black pinstriped pants, shined black shoes... I wanted to push him back in the elevator and have at it.
Instead, we greeted each other in our usual way with Kool-Aid grins and lingering handshakes. I lead him into the office and we sat next to each other and proceeded with sitting rounds for the next half hour. After 9 am, I had a patient refuse treatment secondary to nausea and lightheadedness. I went to notify her nurse, she in turn asked me to tell another resident who I am also buddies with. I found this doctor and he was seated next to Dr. "R" at the computers preparing for walking rounds. There was another doctor there too but I don't know him well. Anyway, I walked over to the resident and told him that the patient refused treatment secondary to nausea and lightheadedness. He said okay thanks for letting him know and that he'd go in to see her during walking rounds. Dr R heard our conversation and chimed in, "You have that affect on people." The other resident added, "Do you have that affect on women?" I chuckled, finished writing my cancel note in the patient's chart, looked up and HE WINKED AT ME!!!!! I couldn't believe it. I played it off like I didn't see it because I was stunned. WTF!? About an hour later, I met up with him again in the Physical Therapy gym. I was just starting my stretching routine with my TKA patient and he calls me over, "Damon, can you come here for a second." I say, sure. He opens a piece of paper with the unit's patients names, diagnoses, and room numbers, points to a what seems like a random name and asks, "Do you know her?" What kind of a question is that? If she is on your case load, you should know her, if not why do you even care?== this is what Im thinking, which is why I know it was random. He just wanted me to come over there. I know it. Anyway, the person that he pointed to I hadn't conducted a chart review at that time but was due to see her at 2pm. I told him no, I don't know her. I was close enough to him to kiss his cheek. He said, ok, thanks and I went back to my patient. For my next two patients, I could barely concentrate thinking about him and his weirdness. I cant wait until he isn't a resident at my hospital anymore because I am going to tell him how I feel about him come hell or high water. I just hope the situation presents itself before then. I think we are getting closer but its taking forever. I think we are both treading light because we don't want to jeopardize anything. We both would have so much to lose if things don't work out. But I know that theres something there. We've carried on much to long like this. Im going to hang out with him at one of the football games sideline. next Friday. Stay tuned.... God, you are so far gone now... I think if he is not gay we are gonna have to come down there and pull you out by your ankle chains.. I think it is a great idea you are treading sofly. I think at this time he is probably very flattered by the amount of attention he is getting from you and he likes you that is for sure. It still does not mean he is gay. By the way are you a flamboyant gay. Do other people in the office know you are gay? Does he know you are gay? He opens a piece of paper with the unit's patients names, diagnoses, and room numbers, points to a what seems like a random name and asks, "Do you know her?" What kind of a question is that?

Hopefully he will tell you his sexual orientation then. [Edited 9/28/09 21:34pm]

Vendetta1 said: pplrain said: OK, still proceed with caution. I think it would not hurt to ask him if he has kids, this way he may tell you his sexual orientation. You'd think real life examples on our beloved org woulda kinda debunked that one by now, no? But seriously, one of my best friends is a gay, white collar professional, and the proud father of a 19 year old son in college. It sounds pretty tricky to rely on whether or not a person has children to be an indicator of sexual orientation...goodness, now that I think about it I know gay couples with birth and adopted children as well...and, as couples often do, sometimes they break up and have to deal with custody or separation issues excatly the same as heterosexuals. At the end of the day, the only way I think one can find out is if the person will give a clear indication of interest, period. There are careful ways to tread this, though. It just takes longer and one has to be patient.

Oh I hope you don't mind me jumping into this thread. I just discovered it and would like to join the cheering squad!!!!
Can I throw 2c in? Sounds like he wants you. Badly. This self-same thing happened to me about two years ago but the guy was Persian. We danced the dance (same situation as yours but different industry) and by the time we actually *allowed* ourselves to be in a position to actually ask if the other was seeing someone, he'd missed his chance as I'd just hooked up with my fella. We still hang out but never mention the fact that we were chasing each other. The job situation really sucks but it really is for the best. If you hook up, but What a fine line to tread! "...and If all of this Love Talk ends with Prince getting married to someone other than me, all I would like to do is give Prince a life size Purple Fabric Cloud Guitar that I made from a vintage bedspread that I used as a Christmas Tree Skirt." Ok guys, here we go. I got a text from Dr R this morning and this is what it said: I'm gonna miss you while Im in OR, dont get run down, keep your kindness up, the patients really appreciate it. I got a text a minute later from him stating that he was bringing middle Eastern pastries to share and to make sure that I got one. I know, I know... not earth shattering stuff, but its good that hes texting me at 8:30 in the morning, right? Hes saying he's going to miss me. Thats really endearing, right?
Anyway, today was a really grueling day for me and he soothed me with his smiles and conversation. He has such a personable way about him. Its like you're the only one in the world with him when he is speaking to you. I suppose that is only a matter of personal perception though. I was faxing an order to a prosthetics company and felt him behind me, oddly enough I didnt hear him walking behind me. He was just looking at me saying nothing after I turned to look at him. I said, I didnt think you were still here. He said, yeah, Im here til 5. He waited until I was finished with my fax and asked me what was on my iPod. I told him that I was listening to loads of Jackson5/Jacksons, MJ stuff since MJ died. We chatted about music for a couple minutes and then someone called him away. Im about to call him to see what hes doing. I cant wait anymore.... More to come.

More to come. hWHAHHT? Am I misinterpreting that phrase? Too keep up with this I almost feel like I should be making two columns on a sheet of paper and weighing the "possible flirt" against a "not a flirt at all" column.

Still, I think he needs 3 more clues before he makes his next move, whatever it's going to be
