I didn't say it was wrong- she can have 'her journey/moment'. I was just saying that I'm not blown away by it- I started off with "For me...".

That's why we're all different, tho. I don't have to like her because others think she's "fab", and U all don't have to dislike her because I think she's not that great. All of us have the unwritten "IMO" after our posts. wink

How quickly we forget in our old age falloff

For me, tho, it's more of "Been there, done that" rolleyes
I just feel like she tries so hard- and it's all been done. David Bowie, Grace Jones, Madonna, Prince, some of the crap Cher has worn, Bjork.... I could keep going. When she was on "The View" she reminded me of Debbie Harry from Blondie. I just don't say "Ooooh....aaaaah..." when I see her. Maybe growing up in the 80s has done this to me. shrug

This is exactly how I feel about her. Yay! Now I don't need to type all that out myself. lol Thanks. smile

And forget the 80s, how about the 70's though and all the glam rock artists? (I know you already mentioned Bowie though) nod

Here are some GTOs and Todd Rundgren back when that shit was original...

anyway, she bores the hell out of me. confused

LMAO I understand folk either liking or not liking or lovin or hatin Gaga's music.
What I don't understand is folk not liking her because she's too over the top and tries too hard to shock the public with her outfits.

We're on a fan site for a dude who used to wear bikini undies and thigh highs and granny lace shawls and all sorts of lace bullshit over his face and assless pants and high heels (still) and.... lol

I'm sayin'!!! johnart, I love you more and more every post!! You rock.

It's not her look, or even her music it's her obvious very calculated shtick that sucks. There is a difference in just being weird and not giving a shit what others think and then there is trying to be weird, really wanting to come off weird and be known for being weird.

That's not weird that's annoying. I like weird I don't like annoying.

We will have to agree to disagree on Prince not being calculating with his public weirdness. A lot about him comes across as calculated to me, not spontaneous. I love it and eat it up, cuz it's Prince and I've always loved him and his music (and eccentricity), but still seems something you sit down and say to yourself...hmm...what will freak these folk the fuck out? hmmm

I know! ASSLESS pants! woot!

Prince didn't have to do any of that ridiculousness or write slave on his face to be free.
His contract would've played out and he still would've landed where he is now.
He did this in reaction to wanting to be free, yes, but he did it because he likes to make spectacle and have people talk about him.

LadyLuvSexxy

TOTALLY disagree with the GaGa grade. She did that mess for attention. She's about as "unique" as everyone who has done the same thing at awards shows in the past. The only thing I liked was her singing and those red shoes that made more sense than pretty much all of her outfits combined. Especially the bird's nest face thing. What the hell? O_o

Also disagree with Amber's grade. That's her style and she's well known for it. I loved it. She has the body for it.

As for everyone else, meh. I suppose.
