huh? I did not wish death on Fidel or anyone. Just pointing out that these men have been all diagnosed with fatal diseases. It's not like it was unexpected that Kennedy or Swayze would not be with us long after their cancer diagnoses. And it is AMAZING how many times people say Castro has cancer and is near death so it is a good chance the way it's been going with people that we hear he has passed.

Please don't put words in my mouth, especially about death.

[Let's keep this thread civil and keep it on track please. Take it up privately in orgnotes and not in the forums as this is tasteless and disrespectful.]

hah! go figure.....a fight in a death thread on the org

now, let me get on with my comments about Patrick that will forever live on in this meaningless world we call the internet

RIP Patrick Swayze. You no longer have to suffer and you are in a better place. I seen ur first appearance on the Outsiders that was the movie and also Dirty Dancing as well. I had a crush on you especially on Dirty Dancing and I was jealous how you danced with Jennifer Grey instead of me hehe. You are a brillant and terrific actor and you will be missed. One love.

we all knew this was coming, he was a sick man, but it doesnt take away the shock, or lessen the sorrow.

RIP Patrick....

Yeah he was very sick. I seen his pictures like two months ago and I knew right then that he won't be with us longer. I really hated that he is gone and also him getting this cancer and he had so much to live for just like the other celebrities who passed throughout this year. I seen him on the Barbara Walters interview and he was very angry but he was determined to fight until the end.

UGH NOOOOO!!! I mean I knew it was coming and he had been in my thoughts last week cuz of those stinking tabloids. Dang! I loved him in Dirty Dancing...had such a crush on him, and even have his single "She's Like the Wind." At least he doesn't have to suffer with cancer anymore. RIP rose sad

Whenever I think of Patrick Swayze, the first thought that comes to mind is the pot-making scene in "Ghost".

Thank you, meow, for saying this. hug One of my all-time fave movies. And to this day now matter where I live, when I start to decorate on a tight budget (as I have done for some of my children and friends also) I always ask myself, "WWVD? What would Vida do?"

Really sad about Patrick Swayze. I was just watching some of the videos the other day. Hungry Heart, She's Like The Wind. 2 of my favorites. I didn't know why but they made me kinda sad. Now I know why.

Point Break was a legendary movie.
That last scene where he asks Keanu for one last wave is just immense!

And Too Wong Foo with Snipes and Leguizamo is a classic.

Pity he didn't do more music, he had a great voice, but those few songs he did do were classics.

RIP

I have a big surfing holiday this weekend which will no doubt include multiple viewings of Point Break and multiple beers in his honour

Still he lived a great life, married a good woman had hit movies, hit records and seemed to have fought against the dying of the light with passion and dignity

I was watching that movie with my mother when I was kid and that scene really made me blush. Just way too hot for me to handle lol.

And oh how many times haven't I watched Dirty Dancing? That movie is part of the reason why I love dancing! I don't know any girl that hasn't wished she could take Jennifer Grey's place and do that last scene with him. Now, I've had the time of my life...

I thought it was hilarious to see such a masculine fella like Patrick in To Wong Foo. And the coolest thing was that he was totally believable! He's just a terrific actor. And a man that obviously was part of a lot of people's lives, so many that I know are shocked and saddened by this.

It's so terribly sad that he didn't win the battle, but he can rest in peace now. rose
