I have found two long lost loves of mine...or rather, they found me. One is a man I just lost touch with around 1998. He moved to Cali. We had been best friends and then lovers. Him, I am glad found me. He said he had been searching for me for 15 years. touched redface He even wrote a TV show. Some show about long lost loves reunited, to try to get them to find me, but they couldn't. I changed my last name to my maiden name.

The other one...not so much. He hasn't changed a bit from the smooth-talkin' ladies man he thought he was.

Other than that, no problems. I'm always playing Vampire Wars and that's the only thing that gives me grief!

I have a long lost love I want to find too, but he has such a common name dead

Maybe try his middle initial? Or town? heart

If the only two things you know are a "common" first and last name, the only thing you can do is search those names until you find someone who resembles him. Although 15 years can change a person. That really sucks. hug

And yet...who knows? He may be searching for you too! nod

What have been some of your positive and negative stories regarding Facebook?

Sometimes I find it difficult to add certain people from my past as friends. Has anybody else ever come across a past girlfriend/boyfriend/ friend that had contacted you but you really didn't want to be bothered with?

Yeah I had my ex that I broke up with a year ago send me a friend request a couple of months ago and I rejected it. I have a new boyfriend now that I've been going strong with for over 6 months. My ex needs to get over himself and get a life.

As far as my experience with facebook goes, I find myself being very cautious. I don't like a lot of people, especially people I'm not even close to anymore, knowing my personal business. So I don't have many pics of myself on my page or anything, I hardly go on the damn site. I mostly on here or looking for jobs to apply for biggrin I've deactivated my account once, and pretty soon, I'll probably be doing it again.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I only just opened a Facebook account a month ago.
shrug
So far I have 14 friends.
I like the way I can share stuff with friends and family (notably photos).
I dislike all the crap that comes my way (Farmville? Chugg it? Causes? why????)

But now I tend to check it almost every day.

No, not totally.

In fact it SAVES me time by allowing me to post a photo album of the trip to the carnival (or what have you) and have family/friends view it, as opposed to having to show up with a photo album.

I agree. It helps for those of us far away from friends and loved ones.
I find it useful.

Myspace just isn't as good a format for communicating, I think. It's pages might look cooler, but facebook is just a more brilliantly designed site.

Myspace is definitely better for bands (I still use it for that--my latest band is linked through www.funkmusic.org), but for some reason facebook seems simpler for communication.

Have you noticed friends who are using myspace less now?

nod When I had my birthday some days ago only one friend wished me a happy birthday there, but quite some on facebook even though I have many more friends on myspace and use it much more for communication.

I have my profile set so that people cannot request me as a friend. They can send me a message; but only I can request their friendship. If someone I wasn't friends with in high school sends me a message asking why they can't add me as a friend, I just ignore it. Problem solved. wink

Me 2. I only have close friends & family on there. It's great for keeping in touch with loved ones who don't live close. Great for sharing photos too.

After having 185 friends, I have decided to make my profile unsearchable, so that no one can find me to add me. If someone wants to add me that bad, they can send me a message...

It's a great way of keeping in touch with people I don't often see. I log in pretty much every day... tho I don't do the quizzes and games and stuff - that's just a big waste of time. (IMO)

I recieved 2 friend requests from neighbours' children (aged 10 and 11). There is no way i'd want to add them disbelief .... some of the things that get posted on my wall are definitely not suitable for childrens eyes!
