You ever enjoy wasting a day?

I tend to waste one day a week, usually Saturdays, doing a bunch of nothing, reading books, watching college football, surfing the internets, and by the time Im done its evening and I shower up and either see the lady, some family members, or a friend. This revitalizes my soul. YOu guys/gals enjoy wasting a day?

I totally agree just take a day to take everything in and appreciate what is around you and do the things you enjoy.

not lately, no.

I absolutely HATE my addiction to the org. lol

Not because it's the org, nor because of any drama in it, but just because I actually make out a laundry list of things for me to do each day redface, and only get about 80% of it done because I'm always checking the org.
half the time, I'm checking from an Internet cellphone. lol

I don't even like to spend the day reading books and whatnot unless there's a purpose to it redface
Example: I'm reading "A Confederacy of Dunces", not simply for pleasure, but in order to became more familiar with the author's writing style to see if it can influence my own.
Even when I read stuff like Harry Potter, there was always some ulterior purpose to it--not just for pleasure's sake. lol

I used to have weeks, were I would do nothing but shoot the breeze. Now everyday has to have some purpose. Some meaning. Else, I feel absolutely lost. It sucks. I can't even enjoy a beer without wondering what the purpose of the gathering is and what I get out of it. lol

Absolutely. I work a lot and do shift work and also run my own business it takes a lot out of me so I like to take time out and chill when I can. It's my relaxation time and definately not classed as time wasting... wink

I have "downtime" on my calendar every week (which, for me, means alone-time when I don't have do to anything in particular). I go nuts without it.

Too much of that time and I do start to feel guilty for "wasting" my life, but usually I'm plenty busy and it's not an issue.

Hey, Karma,

I don't think you're wasting a day at all. You intentionally take out a day to restore. That's very productive in the long run!

I, on the other hand, do waste days. I wake up planning to get a bunch of stuff done, but typically I screw around so much that it doesn't pan out... and I inevitably regret it. confused I think if I were smarter, I'd be like you and schedule some chill time. That way, my work time wouldn't feel like such endless drudgery.

I absolutely hate wasting a day, but I love what you describe. I'm gonna spend today reading, watching football, surfing the net, and maybe doing a little work too. Looking forward to it.

I'm full time at work and school and have set aside Sundays as a day for myself. I don't consider it wasteful at all and I don't beat myself up if I do nothing but lie on the couch and watch cartoons.

Just... a day? You mean just one?

Although as a redeeming factor: having worded a few times in my life at government offices, I can safely assure you that a whole lot of people waste most of their days doing nothing and also get paid for it.

I've often thought we're exactly alike. biggrin

BTW, A Confederacy of Dunces is one of my favorite books of all time. Brilliant book that made me laugh so hard I was in tears at some points.

Is a day enjoyed a "wasted" day? I don't think so.

By some people's standards, I waste many a day. By my standards (the only ones that count, of course), I waste not a one.
