That is absolutely wonderful news. Back in late 2000/early 2001, I lost 100 pounds in less than a year and I felt the happiest with myself than I had in my entire life. It does wonders for your self esteem which is when I added the "vain" to my name.

I used to weigh myself once a week. The most discouraging part was if I didn't lose much in one week, or had lost nothing, or had maybe even gained during that week. But you can't let it stop you, you have to have strong determination and keep going. So when I'd weigh the next week and see I had lost a few pounds, that would get my spirit back up again.

Also, once you reach your goal, the diet isn't over. You can't have all the good things you had before. You have to constantly watch what you eat all the time and it gets to the point that you feel miserable because you can't eat what you want soooo bad. I found that the cure to that was to eat what I wanted once a week no matter how fattening it was. You have to have some fun in your life or you might as well be dead.

In the last two years, I've had a few tragedies in my life such as some deaths that were very close to me and some financial problems. My eating what I want once a week tactic spread to twice a week, then three times a week, and now it's every day. My weight is getting right back up there and I'm at the point now that I don't give a damn. So you definately have to keep it up because it will come back if you're not careful.

Anyway, keep up the good work and if you slip and fail, don't give up. And even if worst comes to worst, just remember, big people are beautiful too.

Thanks so much for sharing. We have alot in common. I have not had the horrible events you had in your life but anything can trigger you to gain weight if you have it in your genes to gain not 5-10 pounds but 50-100! It's gotten harder to lose but I'm gonna keep going. I have much faith you will get back to were you want to be. The most important thing is to accept where you are at now and set your goals!

A friend of mine who's kept off 80 or so pounds for many many years now gave me some good advice - once you accept that it is indeed a bit of a rollercoaster, that not every week will be stellar, that it will be hard & truly suck & you won't always feel like exercising, you may even slip up food-wise. BUT as long as you keep going & just do better that next week/month/year you'll come out on the other side of it. It's a balancing act with hopefully more good than bad, just don't let the bad take you down. It's feeling like we've failed in a single week/month & taking it too hard on ourselves that keeps people on the "failure" side of things.

You'll do great, just stay determined. You've accomplished something awesome nod

I'm glad. And Calhoun just gave you the best advice on what it takes to keep up the good work. And here's some more advice. Receiving compliments really keep you motivated because you feel like you're succeeding and when other people can see and notice the difference in your weight, that feels really great because it lets you know that your success is not all in your head. You know you've lost weight because the scale is telling you that but you look in the mirror and you see the same fat person you were to begin with. Your family, friends, and co-workers see you every day so they have seen the weight gradually come off little by little just like you have. They give compliments from time to time but it usually seems to be after you've told them you've lost weight. Go see someone you haven't seen in a while and don't even tell them that you've been dieting. They will notice it right away and will definately say something.

Thats been happening lately! You really still are the fat person inside. I am looking forward to going back to LA (where I used to live with all the skinnies) and see my friends. They will be so surprised! I used to never buy clothes and now I love trying on new clothes as I have reached what society views as a 'normal' size. Plus I can sleep, breathe better. I was really worried I would die before turning 35. I turn 35 next May! By then I hope to have gotten close to my goal of 150 pounds. but like Calhoun said..take every week as it comes and accept where you are at.

I'm so glad I shared! We should do this more! I need to come back on more!

I'm losing at a much slower rate than you, but I've lost 41 pounds in the last 6 months. As of today I'm no longer obese, but merely "overweight". woot!

worship Congrats to you!!!! I've been trying to lose 40 pounds for the past 5 months...I'll lose 3-4 pounds, then gain it back, lose it then gain it back. I've been doing some serious exercising the past month and a half and I have more energy now than I have in the past 5 years. So I guess thats the important part??? shrug I think the reason why I haven't been losing much of anything is because I have an extreme craving for sweets and so I cheat now and then. But I need to get where I need to eliminate that, but its so hard. Then in turn I feel like I need to eat less, but my bf told me that, eating less isn't good because then your body turns on you and you end up maintaining or gaining weight. Right now I'm frustrated with it, because I really don't know what else to do. I've lost 20 pounds before, but now I've gained all of that back and then some which is why I put my goal at 40 pounds to lose.

But anywho, I'm glad yay! that you have lost that much weight on weight watchers. I've tried them and got frustrated with the whole writing down what you eat everyday and then getting weighed every week and going to the meetings, so I fell off. confused
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
