in the states it costs them money if they don't have insurance through their jobs sad isn't it?

Yep! And even if you have insurance it can still cost quite a bit of money to go to the doctor and get medication.

Example...

I went to get 2 prescriptions filled the other day. They were both medications that I take regularly for my migraines.

One was for 9 pills and the other was for 2 injections.

It cost me $100!!! And I pay $400 a month for health insurance. neutral

Those 9 pills probably won't last me an entire month but that's all my insurance company will "authorize" in a 30 day period. rolleyes

I also take 3 other medications regularly...

Total I spend anywhere from $600-$700 a month for insurance, doctor's visits and medications every month.

sad

It's hard to believe that the USA hasn’t got Medicare
How do struggling families and the unemployed get Medical help?
Excuse my ignorance but how does it work in the USA if Medicare doesn’t exist?

I think Obama is working on getting health insurance for all people in the U.S.

I saw an american documentary on TV that went to a few different countries to checkout their health care systems, which were the best for the patients, the doctors or both, which weren't sucking the government dry, which weren't letting the pharmaceutical companies fleece everyone etc. It's a tough one!
