Halloween plans

Anybody have any Halloween parties in the works? Halloween is on a Saturday this year, so it should be super exciting excited I've always wanted to go to a Halloween party, but never have, so I'm on my quest early to look for a decent Halloween party to go to. pumpkin evillol

i want to hit up as many haunted houses as possible! lol

last year we went to a good one in memphis, and the year before that we got to go to the indianapolis children's museum haunted house (don't ask me how we always managed to be travelling over halloween!). oh, and the MPLS state fair had a fun haunted house last year, even though that was in the middle of august. i think the past few years have confirmed a suspicion that i am officially a haunted house nut. nod

lol thanks for the encouragement, you are making me even more excited for Halloween to get here!!!! I want to dress up as a sexy red devil. Last year I was a witch, in full costume. Only wore it to work though, they were having a costume contest. pumpkin

For the past few years, my family meets up with about 4 or 5 other neighborhood families at dusk and we all go trick-or-treating together. It's the most sickeningly suburban thing you've ever seen: A pack of little squealing girls running door-to-door, usually in kitty cat costumes, with strobing Halloween lanterns and candy bags as big as they are.... followed by a slower-moving pack of adults, all with Starbucks in hand and evening slippers on, talking news, politics and Christmas vacation plans. lol

Somehow it's become strangely fun in my old age.

I'm probably going to NYC to the Greenwich Village Parade like last year (my 1st time). Last year I swore I'd never go again, but I'll be there... boogie

I've started thinking about a costume... hmmm

It is not a huge deal here in the UK like it was back home.
I usually get more excited about it being Autumn and the leave changing more than the Halloween.
Though this year I will have a little guy to dress up which will be something totally new and different. Our neighbours gave us a Little Devil Sleeper outfit for him to wear.

Never done anything for Halloween, my Mum always said it was an American event and she wouldnt have me knocking on peoples doors threatening people to give me a treat or I would do something mean.

One day I aim to be out in America and see how the celebrate it, it looks like its a proper event out there.
