A)Her target daytime audience goes for that sort of thing.
B)There's folk payed to "prep" the audiences before these shows are taped.
C)Some younger folk might not be well read on history and really think it actually is a big deal.
D)They recognize it's just fun-tv and are goin along with it cuz they got the dvr goin at home so they can watch themselves every night this week.

I remember sometime in the 90s I started paying attention to this really beautiful young African-american girl that had appeared here and there - she had been featured in the Robert Altman film "Pret-a-Porter" and in the George Michael video "Too Funky" for example. At one point I had even a picture of her on my wall, without knowing even her name. The thing was just that her looks were obviously completely based on the make-up and the hair (she had a distinctive-looking fringe at one point). Obviously she looked stunning, but to me it seems to be the case that she's still sort of trying to come to grips with her entirely fabricated looks that she started sporting around already as a teenager.

Whats with this obsession with black women's hair? All sorts of women have hair issues. All sorts of women alter their hair, wear weaves, extensions, etc. But only when it's black women it seem some sort of weird strange thing worthy of making films about it or doing televisions shows or news articles about(They left EVEEEEERYTHING worthy of discussion about the First Lady and focused on her hair instead, sad and pitiful )

Here's what's really dumb - Tyra has to do every little thing Oprah does & try to make a big fucking deal about it. Oprah went natural last year. She was weavy for a while but let her hair grow out & showed it natural on the show (this was one of those "after the show" moments in passing). So of course Tyra's original ass has to do the very same thing but make an entire day out of it GAWD... & she still look weavy in the "after" photo, but whatevuh!

& I can't believe they put this shit against Oprah's show I'll have to either program it on the other Tivo or drop it since it's usually unwatchable anyway

That's what I don't get.
It's like deciding to watch Kathy Griffin and then being annoyed that she talks smack about other celebrities.

Here's some of the reasons why I enjoy Tyra so:
(and again, I'm not that familiar with the talk show, I'm strictly ANTM)

-She's a hot mess.
-She's a drag queen wanna-be.
-She tries to act and fails miserably.
-She tries to play Model Mama/Psychologist/Dietitian for 5 minutes each season and it's HEEEElarious.
-She receives the girls at Panel as if she were leading the UN in some sort of world saving event.
-She has to re-do every girl's final pose at the end "You gave us _____ when you should've given us _____ (my absolute FAVE part of ANTM!). Just to remind them that she is Tyra and: I Will always be bigger, and faster and I will always beat you!

I didn't watch Cycle 13 of ANTM but I saw the previews. Tyra done lost her mind. Models under 5'7"? That's some bullshit.
